This was in regard to making money with a free blog. Fucking pathetic. I'm damned sick of everyone just making excuses and not acting. I'm about 15 days into my first blog. Just using AdSense currently. Haven't used any of the services from WF, no paid traffic, article submissions, directory submissions. Just did some leg work myself.

How?
Talk to some small ass hosting company that's just starting out. I was emailing directly with the owner in less than 15 minutes. Work out a deal. I gave him some kickass reviews on his hosting company, he bought my domain and gave me 1 month of free hosting. Set it up with WP, got a free AdSense optimized theme, wrote some articles. Sent out a bulletin on myspace, dugg, stumbled, autopinged, dugg and stumbled some more articles that I wrote.

Anyone with internet access and two fucking brains cells to rub together can do this shit. Go out and figure out your first $15.00, rinse and repeat. Then outsource and scale up. That's my fucking plan.

Yeah me too. It's shit when I think about how many hours went into that compared to what I make an hour during the regular work week. Either way, at least I'm fucking doing something.
 
The point is that there are a thousand asshats on the net and around here that bitch and moan about how fucking hard it is to monetize anything. I made $13 in 11 days on my first go at any of this shit because I took some action. It's not a lot of money. I'm not quitting my day job. And your right, it's not a big fucking deal. But it is cool to apply some of the shit that people take the time to write about and prove that even an internet fucktard can make a couple dollars.

Exactly. Everyone starts somewhere, even the ballers on this forum had to make their first $13 online at some point.
 
Good post. I remember when I first started out with my partner last year, we were monetizing with Adsense and not earing a single cent. What happened was that our niche was too niche for a beginner, and we had no idea how to promote out the site. We ended up clicking on our own ads (changing IPs) etc to earn about $15usd a month. We even had an excel chart where we listed down which ads were worth the most to click. Those were the days :) Didn't get banned luckily.
 
It took me like six months to see any profit at all, and I'll admit that without shame, cause now I make my living online.

Mattonitto, you're on the right track, so keep plugging along. Everyone giving you shit on this thread probably don't make shit themselves, so don't let them get to you. Now just upscale and you'll be golden.
 
Sorry if I offended you. I just didn't know where to start. Anyway, FYI, I did make $12 too ($8 after Google adwords) using Commission Junction so far for a toy shop thing. I got my father to lend me his credit card.
 
Also, it's not like I'm not trying at all. I am currently learning PHP from some free books I torrented; you're working, you probably have more experience networking with people and have more internet experience than me. I don't mean to defend myself, but I really am trying to learn here.

I just wanted to thank everyone in the community for all that they give without asking for anything in return. The shit works and if you're out there bitching cause "it's too hard" then this isn't the game for you.

I guess I'm just sick of all the people that hit a landing page for some ebook bullshit about making $874398587 a day without even trying, find their way here, and expect it to be a cake walk. If it was easy, every motherfucker would be working at home naked.

I feel good about at least starting, but wow, I guess I didn't realize how in over my head I was until I got here. There are some absolutely brilliant people on this board that give a ton back. I just hope they know that it is appreciated, even if I don't always know what the fuck they are talking about.
 
I really think you could be making much more if you took more time to learn from this site. You do have the right attitude, but I think should set your expectations and goals much higher. I registered in Dec. 2006, I got laid off my job in April 2007, spent all my time on this site and within a few months I started making $x,xxx a month, which is more than I have at any job. There really aren't as many people bitchin about not making money as there are as many people who don't talk about how much they're making ;)
