Landing Pages - Outsourced Or Self-Created?

As far as landing pages go for PPC, do most of you create them yourselves or do you outsource the work?

Concurrently, if it's a presell type page, do you just write the sales copy and get someone else to do your design? I'd be interested to hear your answers, and if you're in a flaming mood, please keep it brief.
 


i can't design for shit so i usually like to grab a template and go from there. if you can design, you should do it yourself. if not, pay for one or get a template.
 
Self created from scratch, or if I'm feeling real lazy I sometimes grab a free css template from somewhere like oswd.org and hack it around. If using wordpress normally find a free theme that is the right layout and then start altering from there.
 
you could be a dick and click on ads then rip of current landing pages... I rather pay someone though to get the psd and make several versions in photoshop... i have had great luck hiring people off of the Buy, Sell and Trade here on WickedFire...

Same. I usually get someone to create me a landing page because they are so much more creative then me.
 
yeah, i usually like to search a niche, click the ad, view source, copy&paste...then leave a nice thank-u in the comments ;p, hahaha jk...u can get the dweebs over at dp to make a nice lp for pretty cheap!
 
I used to spend hours trying to design or hunting for templates...

Now I just pay someone in India/Pakistan/Sri Lanka $100 to make one for me. (Russians cant design for shit. :o)

Rentacoder ftw. Just throw up a quick add listing the fields you need, quick description of the niche and maybe an example pic.. 1 day due dates haven't been an issue so far.
 
Probably russians don't do designs for $100 ? One of the best designs I have seen in web were russian.
 
I create my own. Its just easier then telling someone what to do and hoping I get what i want.
 
do them myself, 99% of the outsourced LPs i've seen are so bad.

btw, designing landing pages that look exactly like the offer's page works wonders as far as conversions go.
 
How much should I expect to pay for outsourced lp? And what is usually included graphics, copy, design? Where is a good place to find a good designer elance, dp or here etc?
 
I have paid $7 in the past for a decent landing page, if you want extras such as SEO, CSS etc then for a decent landing page around $50-$100
 
$7? by whom? a 12yo? Id say if your not paying at least $40.00, its not really a good lp. this industry costs money, in order to make money.
