I don't know how many of you guys have played around with Yahoo Search Marketing, but the shit is shady as fuck. They
have been running up the charges on my credit just to have money in my fucking account. I had to set my daily budget
about $30 over what I spend, because the other day they ran my account up to a $700 with no sign of stopping. Luckly
my credit card locked up.

But they are back at it again today...Look at the picture below.

Anyone experience this shit? Any ideas how to stop it or fix it? I looked all over their site. I don't want to call Yahoo
because I don't want them fucking with my campaigns.

The funniest part is they just "Investigated" my account, and took down EVERY legitimate campaigns. Saying "They
weren't relevant for the keywords." I honestly don't fucking know how someone could be more relevant, or have a higher
CTR. They weren't even LPs, they were two different websites with over 50 unique articles. But they left my shit
campaigns up.

This gave me mad respect for Yahoo, their business model seems to be... Take down campaigns that have small
profit margins, and run a massive rebill on their customers.

So I still have ads running, but I don't want to end up at a point were I have no more ads running and $500 in YSM credit.

Any suggestions or advice?

Look at this shit...This is just from today...I spend $50 and they think I need to have $400 in my account....

YSM = Crap Shot

If I remember Yahoo correctly, for new accounts they bill you 3x your daily spend. It's very retarded how they do this, but you can contact them to change your billing preferences. Can't remember the other way they can bill you but it's almost as retarded (i.e. prepayment).

Yeah, their post-pay billing system is completely fucked. Contact them and ask to switch to pre-pay, then just dump 1-2 days worth of spending money into your account. You manually charge your credit card with pre-pay.

Any way I can do it with out calling them? Don't want them to look at my account.

Use the e-mail support and use subject Billing Help. Ask to switch to pre-pay billing, nothing more. I don't think their billing dept. cares about checking your campaigns for QS.

Ya man, deffinetly experienced this. They will auto fill your account if it starts getting low. Great people right! To get this not to happen, and not auto fill, you'll need to contact them on the phone, or email. I can imagine howmany ppl this happens too, where yahoo just banks and were left in the dust. It doesnt properly advertise this feature, but it is surely there.

After hitting a certain amount of daily spending on YSM, it didn't make sense to do the pre-payment option because it had a significant impact on my cash flow. I didn't like the thought of Yahoo always holding on to thousands of unspent dollars. Now I just wait for my account balance to deplete and charge it back up with about a week's worth of spending.

How did you do this? I can't find a way to turn it off auto bill? I can make deposits if I wish, but it still pre-bills me on top of that.

That Yahoo shit has pissed me off numerous times.. They are allowed to charge your account by up to 3x your daily spend limit I believe.. shady.

Looks like I'm not the only one who starts "n00b" threads.

Everyone just bashes me for starting "n00b" threads, and this thread which I consider "n00b" doesn't get bashed... WTF!!!

Ok, back to my reply proper: There's NO way to turn off auto bill without contacting YSM customer support. And they may give you a phone # but if you were to call in, there's no one attending to the call. Freaking lame! A prerecorded voice will tell you to email them instead.

So, shoot them an email and tell 'em you want to switch over to pre-pay.

If you're afraid they might look into your campaigns, you can either delete them and upload them again after they've switched you over to pre-pay or you can leave the campaigns as they are and re-upload them should they get deleted.

Charging me 3x daily spending was bad enough, but when they stopped showing my ads when my balance dropped below $15,000 I wanted to strangle someone. The default billing is fucked up, and they will stop showing your ads, even with a high balance if it drops below a certain point based on spending history.

Like most things though, a simple phone call can work wonders. Now I love Yahoo, like fat kids love cake.

Impressive: CTR 0.02%

lol

but serious, yahoo sucks for several reasons! i constantly even get cheaper click prices with adwords.
the only reason i use ysm is bc they don't slap me.

hahaha no I was talking about the other campaigns they pulled...

It's been over 3 months since I've used them and I still have $10000+ balance on my Yahoo account.

This is an interesting thought. I'm sure there are plenty of people like you with huge balances in YSM. Think of the huge bank interest they are earning off our pre-payed, pre-deposited cash. Big numbers.

There's a difference between n00b threads, and retarded threads. Yours always fall into the latter category.

Yep, your right. I had the same problem and I called in to talk to a search marketing rep and found out they had all be laid off. The sales rep I was talking to told me that Yahoo wants 3x your daily spending limit as this will lead to problems with your campaign being paused.
