I've seen an acai flog appearing everywhere on adsonar for 6 months. Adsonar converts like shit. Out of curiosity I copied the site exactly and ran a test on adsonar in a few of the same locations just to see the conversions, and here's what I found:

1,530 clicks
.07% clickthrough
$.77/click

Cost= $1,178

Visitors Clickthrough to Acai Offer: 70
Visitors Clickthrough to Colon Offer: 38

7% total clickthrough.

Conversions:

Acai: 5
Colon: 3

Revenue = $320

Net loss = $858

I have another acai flog running on yahoo that gets 62% clickthrough to the offers, and it is profitable.

Most adsonar flogs disappear within a day or two when the advertiser loses his ass like I did. But this one has thrown me for a loop. Its promoting one Copeac offer and one CX Digital offer.

You didn't think to stop the campaign before you lost $858? Have you ever thought that they are paying much less per click than you are?

Also...link to the landing page, nobody gives a shit. We've probably all seen it anyway.

come on, at least he got a statistically significant number of clicks! not like all these "i have sent 17 clicks and 0 conversions" threads.

Losing $800 doesn't really bother me. I probably make more than most marketers. Just wanted some feedback. Ads were exactly the same, so I'm not sure how they could be paying enough less than me to make that much of a difference. I was under the impression you had to be in the top 3 on adsonar to get volume. But I'm new to adsonar.

I have seen AOL/Adsonar/Few affiliates/Merchants have made millions of money with flogs on adsonar/aol .

Should not the AG ask aol too ?

So let me get this straight. You copied someones ads, landing page, and put it on the same traffic source and you are mad because it didn't work out for you?

Get the fuck out!

He has more historical data in Adsonar's system so he's paying less. He is also optimized so he is getting better positioning both on the page and on pages that convert. You may be on pages that do not convert.

Also, he is probably an advertiser so he makes $50+ a lead where you make $35+ a lead.

He works off a 15% profit margin and you work off a -85% profit margin.

Already banned him once for that. Letting him live this time. Play nice.

I'm seriously sick of people getting banned for outing LPs. It's such a stupid rule. Even Jon has said it's retarded and wouldn't have a problem getting rid of it. People just need to use their common sense - it's one thing if someone is outing a new, cutting edge LP (do those even exist?), but when they link to a site that any monkey can find just by clicking on an ad, there is no need to ban them.

Discussion quality at WF has been absolute shit for the past 6+ months, and this constricting rule clearly has something to do with it. Even when someone makes a semi-legitimate post, he gets pounded by a bunch of new members (in the past 6-12 months) trying to "fit in" by bashing him. I haven't seen a helpful thread on here in ages, and people have their holier-than-thou sticks stuck too far up their asses to care.

you took a snapshot of what that person was doing at that moment. you didn't uncover their strategy at all.

now what if that person copied from someone else, who in turn copied from another cat. the longer the chain, the worse the impersonation.

What is wrong with some of you retards. The OP is explaining his situation and trying to figure it out with some help from here but too many of you douchebags don't have a clue and just throw out smart ass remarks.

It's actually smart to copy someones exact LP and test it on the same exact traffic source at first because you eliminate a variable that could be the cause of your failure. Of course you should be able to do much better with your own unique angle/lp but most smart marketers I know would test someone elses page if they were having an issue figuring out how to get the same traffic source to work.

How about instead of acting like a fool because you don't know what you are talking about you either STFU and sit back and read while taking some notes or go play in traffic ASAP.
