Hello,

I have developed a RedTube scraper that automatically harvests from RedTube by category, downloads FLVs, rips thumbnails and titles. This script runs via PHP command-line (shell access required for Linux; script runs great on Windows aswell). You can output titles and filenames via CSV or MySQL. Script download rates vary depending on your connection and how fast RedTube is running at the time of crawl.

- Automatically crawl RedTube

- Automatically grab and download FLVs and thumbnails

Requirements
- PHP5 (Should work on PHP4, but developed & tested on PHP5)
- cURL support
- Shell/Command Line (If on Windows, use cmd.exe - if on Linux, you need shell access)
- MySQL (Optional - you can output to CSV aswell)

Few questions.

Does it support proxies?

Does it grab the categories and tags?

Is the db schema customisable (e.g. to make it easy to dump straight into say wp)

Are the files encrypted? Would it be easy for me to make some changes to suit my needs?

I'm sure you're gonna get people asking for review copies and it would be good to read some reviews before buying seeing as you have no trading history here. Anything elsewhere?

Hello,

1) Proxy support would be very easy to add in since cURL has a nice built-in proxy support; I could add in such a feature for let's say $20 extra. I would just need to know how you'd like it to work exactly (one proxy, grab random proxy from a list, etc).

2) The script grabs on a per-category basis, check out the Video demo for more information on how it works. It does not grab tags, however again that wouldn't be too difficult to add in.

3) You can easily customize the CSV output through one simple variable, making it very easy to make it WordPress friendly. Here is a example of what the CSV output variable looks like:
PHP: 
$csv_output = "{redtube_id},{title},{flv},{thumbnail}";

4) Yes, the script is 100% unencrypted, so you can edit it the way you want.

5) I'm not giving out review copies at this time. I have several positive iTraders at the DigitalPoint forums, you can check those out here

If you could put a deposit down and guarantee this, I would consider it. I'd have to rent a whole server just to handle all that (I'm sure it would be 500GB+). However, this script, at the price of $50, has the ability to scrape all of RedTube.

For a guy who has been here a month and only has 20 posts, fuck you and your mother's aids infected vagina.

I have a hard time believing that redtube would fail to notice 500gb of traffic back to the users of your product. Seems like kind of a major product flaw to me, but for $50, can't complain really.

I'm curious as to what your testing showed RE: movies/hour and if there were any interferences by redtube.com

If you had the entire database/movies, I'd paypal you the cash right now. Fuck your lack of sufficient horsepower, not my problem. Offer is good until I sober up!

Thanks for your useless opinion and probably lack of funds. Just another kid trying to brag that he has money - you got 3 iTraders, with your top transaction being 50 bucks. Lets all stand in awe.

You got me, I'm an ebook reseller, I made $7.50 last year.

What you've basically said is this:

1) you didn't test
2) your product is nowhere near capable of pulling a lot of shit down, if it was, it'd be more than $50
3) itrader means jack shit to all but the lowest vendors on the totem pole.

dude you just fucked with the wrong guy, bb wolfe is well respected round here. i suggest you do a bit more research before calling someone out or else you will get ripped a new one
 
Going back to the software.

If you can post a video of it doing it's thing for like an hour, I'll buy.

What are the stats? How many movies/hour, do you need proxies, etc.?

I'll work on your suggestions for proxy supports, and see if I can get some rates for the community. I might just go ahead and fork the costs up, get a TB SATA added to my server, rip all of redtube, and sell of a custom tube. That something you'd be more interested in?

I'm guessing these speeds aren't through proxies and public ones would be even slower, so realistically we'd need our own to scrape any serious amount of vids.
