Tracking for PPV traffic

I've been using the image tracking pixel from mediatraffic and I've noticed that it isn't very accurate. The affiliate network shows about double the conversions that mediatraffic shows. What would you guys recommend using besides prosper202? I haven't tried the javascript tracking mediatraffic has yet.

Eh, I've used it before and if your going after keywords with decent traffic it's a bad idea. It'll crash your server, too much of a load.

^ nope, actually have a pretty nice server. It's kinda hard for prosper202 to keep up when your getting 100+ impressions per second.

I've been using p202 on a Rackspace server for a while for my PPV campaigns - I don't know what server company you're using, but they've been great helping me keep things fast and working as they should. They're expensive, but worth it.

P202 for PPV works great for me. I have it setup on a dual core Xeon and it works great.

You guys are way out of date, i use this to track EVERYTHING, tells me where its going...when it gets there, and all sorts of useful info. Beats t202 anyday

i sue prosper for high volume ppv traffic. No problems as long as your server is good.

We've killed prosper a bunch of times with PPV with large clusters of servers. If you're doing small targeted campaigns with PPV it's fine. But if you're taking a large volume of traffic you're going to be sending traffic to a dead link. Someone I know on here spent $2k in 2 mins all clicks but only 150 impressions showed up cause it took down his server. I've done similar things as well. We use the pixel tracking for the company it's really the best way I've found to make it work. Adon's pixel isn't very accurate either. You could always pass the keyword in the URL as your subid and track that way as well to see what words are converting. But people will try and sniff around and find your keywords that way. It's not super easy to do though.

Ive had similar stuff happen. One thing that seems to allow the servers to stay up and function on huge influxes of traffic is NGINX - After I had that installed on the servers, they performed a LOT better.

I've had major issues with PPV traffic to Apache. Running lighttpd now with better results. Apache just seems way too heavy and unable to scale with huge bursts of traffic.
