Dear publishers,

Our offer selection and payouts are soon to be on the rise!

As many of you already know, there is tremendous scrutiny on the incentive advertising community, so we’re instituting a few proactive safety measures to ensure best payouts.

We are further increasing our compliance team’s effort to ensure content offered by our publisher’s meet our advertiser’s individual requirements and standards. This means that publisher’s who do not meet our unique advertiser’s requirements, will not see offers provided by those advertisers listed under their Surveys tab for promotion.

It is understood that this may be a slight inconvenience to some of you and we apologize, but this inconvenience will result in additional too-good-to-be-true offers at better payout rates for the larger majority of CPAlead publishers. As well, this means that many surveys that you use to love to promote will be returning due to our new-targeted compliance effort – at better payouts!

As always, please contact your personal affiliate manager with any questions or concerns. We’re here to help.

Logged in today and chat room is all crazy with this shit and log in a half hour later to see this. Looks like some pubs are going to have to find a new way to monetize.

I wonder how they are defining incentives in this case.

The Blackhat Wordpress plugin that came out a while back was using on-line movie viewing (all of it against copyright) out of China to get people to sign up for zip submit offers and whatever else. CPA Lead was on of the companies who was accepting the traffic for that.

The 'incentive' (at least the way a lot of pubs were doing it) was to set up a site linking out to video sites, but to get to the video you had to go through the content gateway. Advertisers don't want the traffic coming from copyright infringing sites so a lot of offers were getting pulled so I guess they had to make a choice. Some people were making dickloads of money doing that but now I guess they gotta figure something else out.

That should result in some interesting posts over at (that other forum. No, not DP or WaFo or SP - the other other one I lurk at sometimes). They guys selling that system were getting some pretty intense interest. They had 50+ pages of responses, questions, complaints, whatever to that plugin and they highly recommended CPA Lead.

Turns out CPA Lead didn't feel the same way I guess.

The funny thing is that the movies were hosted on something called "media box china". I specifically asked in the thread if they were owners of that site or had any sort of relationship to that site. After all - it's one thing to be a gateway to copyrighted content - it's another to own the hosting account serving it up. I think a very legitimate case could be made in court against these guys IF they own both ends of that operation.

Although they answered just about every other question anyone asked that one was never acknowledged - which told me everything I needed to know.

You mean advertisers don't want to pay premium prices for shit traffic?

Who would have thunk?

I dunno about shit traffic. Most of the offers were mobile. Hard to see how the advertiser is losing money on those.

It's not like the retard who filled out a twilight mobile survey because he wanted to watch an unreleased movie is going to cancel his subscription.

The only reason their canning movie/tv sites is because of copyright issues.

well... if the people running cpalead splashes aren't hosting the videos i dont think its technically copyright infringement or whatever.

This is why you should get all your legal advice from internet instead of actual lawyers.

All you haters keep hating, while CPAlead been banking of this so called crappy traffic since 08. Just look at the payment proof they've been issued.

Then all of these sites are going to switch to Loudmo or Pinball. I don't think it's going to be that big of a deal for these video sites. Pinball is already sketchy as fuck so I think they'll have no issues taking on this type of traffic.

If these people are acting as a gateway to an independent movie source I'd agree with you. I wouldn't want to take the legal risk in court but I can see that argument.

If site "a" links to site "b" which happens to have copyrighted content but zero affiliation with site "a" I don't think site A has too much to worry about - except that they can get their pants sued off for any monies they made by knowingly - and that is key - knowingly - directing people to the plaintiff's copyrighted material.

However, if site "a" has good reason to think/suspect/believe/etc that site "b" happens to be part of the same group that is selling them the plugin - or even if they SHOULD have known - they are fucked, period.

This all goes back to the definition of "a bad idea". The definition of a bad idea is one where there is limited potential upside and nearly unlimited potential downside.

How much money can you make off a CPA lead movie site? Maybe $100K in a year if you are lucky? 10X that? Most people would make far less. Would that really be worth prison plus paying all the money and fines back to a studio?

Not to mention having a cellmate who thinks you is purdy?
