Best type of product to go into? (+share success stories)

People always say niche products.. I'm new to this. Why niche? There'd be such low demand, I'm guessing it's because then as it's so unheard of you can convert people to think "I NEED ONE OF THOSE!", is this it?

I don't really see though, that making a blog and posting content up about something like how to seduce Asian guys in their mid 40s, would create more cash than if I made a blog about health and fitness..?

What are the most profitable types of sites?

It's a mobile content subscription. Users sign up at your website and you send them content like horoscopes or love tips via text message directly to their phone. Most users are happy to pay $9.99 per month for this service in the US, and similar prices internationally.

With only a few thousand subscribers, you can really rake in the dough.
 
Sounds good! Also, sounds like the website wouldn't be too hard to setup, however I would have no idea on how to send out text messages to the masses and sort out a subscription for phones?

You'll need your own short code to handle the billing, try Google searching for SMS short codes.

One of the best parts about this business type is you can offer a small customer acquisition fee to affiliates to handle your advertising. If you know the lifetime value of a customer is worth $x, and you can pay one half $x for each customer to your affiliates, everyone gets rich.

That way, they do the work and bring the customers, and you just focus on writing quality content for your subscribers. They'll love you for it.

I could do a one off paypal payment, wouldn't make as much money but would probably make more customers?
 
Well, the person that handles your short code will be the intermediary between you and the wireless carriers. See, these charges show up on user's cell phone bills. They don't need to take out a credit card or sign in to PayPal to subscribe--that's why the conversion rates are so high. So whoever handles your short code will have an operating agreement with the wireless carrier describing how to collect payments.

And yes, your conversion rates would probably be higher with only a 1-time charge, but I don't recommend it. The lower conversion rate with subscription based billing will be more than offset by the increased revenue of collecting each month rather than once. Ask yourself, would I rather be paid once, or paid over and over and over? Hopefully you'll keep your customers happy so they will stick around for years!

How do you receive payments through your short code provider though? I can't see much on it from Google.. and of course you'd need to sort out options for members to END subscriptions etc..

not sure if this is a one man job.
 
If you're going to provide mobile content, do something different. Get people to subscribe to your penny stock subscription.

What you can do, in addition to providing valuable investment advice, is buy 'pinks' at a very low price. Then you can blast all of your subscribers, telling them to buy said stock for any number of reasons. When the price goes up by 1600%, that's when you sell it! BONUS $$$$
 
Hmm thanks, something different... there are so many love calculators, I'm literally just starting out, do you think a one page website with a simple TOS and one graphical image centered, describing everything would be enough? then just market the site on facebook, people start texting in, it spreads, profit.
 
Did a long email to an SMS short code company, looks good and quite cheap relatively. I'll read into it and come up with something hopefully!
