2010

As a tumultuous (yet paradoxically prosperous) 2009 comes to a close, I am reminded of what is needed in this space: STABILITY, FORESIGHT, CONSISTENCY, REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS
The importance of operating ‘like a real company’ can not be overstated; with the recent tumult and rife controversy in Affiliate Marketing, it’s nice to be reminded that there are successful templates that we can look toward to provide a roadmap of how to escape the underbelly & greyhat nature of our space.

I look forward to a continuing evolution of Affiliate Marketing in 2010, a year that portends the feared ‘consolidation’ that has been augured for years; a year that will define the future of Internet Marketing itself – it’s not the chase of new methodology, it’s not the cash grab, it’s not capitalizing on what’s hot. . .it’s the magic of integrating formality with the informal; we are still the internet and will never be corralled, but we do need the long-term vision necessary to form companies that are TRULY successful. And that success is not defined by hitting the jackpot; it’s defined by stability & sustainability – and that, my friends, is the vision we need to have for 2010 and beyond.

Truly Happy Holidays to all of you that've played a part in my learning & growth within the space, and I appreciate the conversations, shared knowledge, frustrations, laughs & education. Here’s to a great 2010 and beyond.

Thanks for the corporate-sounding gobbledygook. Have your secretary call my office on Monday.

Good luck bro
