I kinda threw together a crap fitness site with mediocre content and layout. But its really doing well as far as pageviews imho. After 3 months up to 500 a day sounds good to me but what do I know?

Is that good?

The problem is its made only $20 in adsense so far. I haven't put much else into it.

wtf do I do now?

500 a day is good without too much effort. You now have a multitude of options.

1. Sell Ad Spots
2. Adsense
3. Affiliate with a Fitness Geek
4. Sell eBooks
5. Offer Membership
6. Run Surveys

I am in a similar boat as you. I made a crappy web 2.0 page a few years ago and didn't touch it, and found out recently it was getting >500 uniques a day. WTF.

I'm trying all sorts of things (adsense, physical products, CPA, clickbank) to optimize the earnings. The good thing is, with that much traffic you can get pretty good statistics on your users in a week to see what works and what doesn't.

I am up to about $50-60/month. Having trouble making more than that. I thought 500/day would be worth more than that, but eh, maybe I just suck or my niche sucks.

The only thing I haven't tried is email collection, but I don't think that works in all cases.

Sounds like you are doing okay with adsense but are looking for something more. Jump into a free trial offers, either direct linked or with a "lifestyles" lander. Analyze your demographic and go with a weight loss offer for the majority(male or female) to boost their workout.

depending on which kind of fitness site it is you might try to sell some home fitness equipment via affiliate links

also adsense or chitika could do well

in case it's a crappy site about getting slim quickly you could try with some of those crappy ebooks you find on cb

You definitely want to start looking into CPA ads, they can be very productive and convert well when match up closely with your sites theme. There are PLENTY in the health/fitness niche. Have you tried CJ.com? they are pretty easy to join, pepperjamnetwork.com, linkshare.com and shareasale.com also have decent offers.

If you are going the adsense way then you might want to change your theme to a more adsense / click friendly one. Also if you want to earn some money fast there's always click jacking.

Next idea would be building a list. Offer some PLR BS ebook for their email address. Then put all those people into awebber. And learn a bit of email marketing and then start selling.

CPA is also a good option but it's a one shot. If you pair it with a list you can get more out of it though.
