College students are headed back to school in the next couple of weeks, and they spend a shitload of money on things they need and more

Microfridges,TV’s, bedding, laptops etc…

Most big retailers are preparing to cash in, so should you!

First Look for shit in your affiliate programs that the students would actually purchase. Now Find some cheap creative keywords in the niche, write super targeted ads, and get some landing pages up. Also when looking for keywords finding try to look for large gaps inbetween max bids.

For example one of my ads:

XXXXXX
Perfect for your dorm room

All of the other paid ads from this particular search are general, my ad is the only one segmented. Im positioned 4th and I pay half the amount of the top 3 per click, like i said look for large gaps in between max bids.

Once clicked, they arrive at my college themed landing page where I have a 5 star bullshit review about the product. I also cross promote my other landing pages there, because they are apart of the same niche.

Booom that’s all it takes

My four sites have been up for a week and they are doing quite well, the serious traffic isnt gonna come for a couple of weeks. This niche is largely underserved, there are plenty of good keywords with no advetisers at all. I wish I had around 20k to spend on PPC I would make a killing at this sheeit, even though i'm doing well im running out of money for PPC, I wont see my affiliate checks for a while...but oh well

Im sure you can use this process for other niches also, but its much easier in this niche right now because of the time of year....your going to get frustrated finding your keywords, just be persistant!!!

This is my attempt to give back a little, since ive taken a lot of info away from this forum, 2 months ago I didn’t now shit about affiliate marketing. I dont care for the competion there is plenty of money to be made and i'm pretty much broke LOL.

Have fun and make some money!

Thanks for the advice ZooYork. Like Juicify said, you give a newbie hope!
Do you have any recommendation on a good ppc network?

There he goes again working hard for the commission.. Gotta love these affiliate manager sales guys. But hey, I give you credit Mike, I don't see the other AM's working as hard as you to help the affiliates make more bank. A true salesman. Hungry for the sale. You can work on my team anyday.

Nice idea. I knew the back to school period means lots of sales but never thought about launching new campaigns for it.

By the way, when does college start again in the U.S.? Is it early September or October?

Trust me I am a Virgin ;-)

LOL, Thanks Jon but salesman sounds so dirty. I consider myself a resource for the people. I am here to offer as much knowledge as I can to help my affiliates make as much money as they can. Its funny because every affiliate manager tells me the same thing. To be successful you have to call call call. I make it an effort to not be pushy. I simple run stats and suggest the best performing offers that fit each affiliate's target audience. I do how ever wear a poliester suite and shinny white shoes to work every day.

every good sales person is a "resource".:pimp:

i can say from experience that pushy AM's (ahem...tapout mike) are the exact reason i don't use xy7.

in fact, i'll go one step further. YOU are actually MY affiliate manager and i had to filter you from my email, block you from my IM and now i screen your calls. (yet you still leave me voicemails whenever you call) lol.

it's a damn shame that i have to read your 'recruitment rants' here as well. FYI - YOU are 100% the reason i chose to go with another network. literally.

First off let me start by apologising. I don't ever remember having a Tmoney as an affiliate. I feel really bad too because I have really great relationships with most of my affiliates. I even checked my email and AIM logs and there is no Tmoney there either. Nor can find a profile on you, I make profiles about all of my affiliates so I know how they like to be contacted and what offers they like to run. I am sorry your experience with xy7 and myself were not happy one's. I can assign you to another affiliate manager if you ever decided you want to promote any of our high converting 300 plus offers, several of which are exclusive. (obvious plug for xy7.com) ;-). Please let me know if you needed anything else.

Like jon said I will take this kid on my team any day. Maybe you should take off the high heels and skirt and put your balls on the table be a man and listen to what this kid has to say salesman or not he brings us the quality shit to sell so no disrespect at all I like reading what you have to say and think your quite bright but go to the lengths you have gone it sounds like you cant handle playing with the big boys and from listening to you I know you can soo either delete your account at xy7 or just let the kid go so he isnt for you but let him have his time you know if he is that good he will be around I would rather a friend or rather a guy who can show me the money than make enemies.

fair enough- but i just wanted to let you (and other AM's) know that being too pushy is not always the best approach. if i decide to come back to xy7 i'll let you know, but since i'm already getting wires from another network, i doubt it will happen.

either way i do like your style, and GENERALLY speaking, being more agressive helps (i would assume). it's a dog-eat-dog world out there, and i can't blame anyone for trying.

and yes, i go by a different alias. using your real name on the net isn't always smart - otherwise everyone can see your myspace page ;)

Even though salesperson may sound dirty but even if you are the CEO of a company then also you are a sales person -- you are selling your ideas and vision.

Just a few days ago, I got this as a comment to a payment :
What can I say, you make a good salesman! :)

Honestly, I couldn't have felt more proud. If I can make a sale, I can sell my ideas and vision. That sounds success for me. ;)

I'm a business owner as well and I don't consider myself a sales person. However the other day I landed a real big contract, which initially I didn't think it was a big deal. Later on at dinner, my wife (who is also my office manager) was going over yearly revenue and I got to thinking that every penny we bring in, comes in through me (as I don't let anyone else talk to my clients or potential clients) so in essence, I am a salesman.

So I guess I'm a kick ass salesperson on top of it. When it's your own company and your paycheck isn't determined by commissions, you don't think of it that way, but in the end, I'm on the phone all day closing deals.

And in response to T-Money's post about Mike:

I feel for you man. I used to be in the consulting arena, and I hated it. Having to keep tabs on all of those annoying clients, payments, explaining to them how search engines work, telling them that their kid doesn't know what he's talking about when he tells them about search engines, etc. Such a headache and a waste of time.

I think all SEO's should just become affiliate marketers or arbitrage folk. More money, less work, less headaches, no contracts, and a huuuuge competition advantage over the little guys who aren't ex-pro SEO's. But hey, when people like you stay in consulting, it makes me more money in the end for less serious competition.

Nice,

I think you're right about the whole college thing. There are like literally a million of them with major bucks. I'm amazed that their tuition can be paid with the run up in tuition costs over the last 10 years. I think that whole demographic is getting cooler (and more expensive) stuff than we did; laptops, ipods, cell phones, etc. It's good to hear that somebody is monetizing it.:xmas-smiley-030:
