Ad position 1-3 or 4 - 6?

When your using PPC do you always try and get with the first 3 positions or do you not mind from 4 - 6?

Ive read before that some dont mind sitting around 4 - 6 as some searchers will make their way through the sponsored listings and in some cases it can do ok to be further down the page as some searchers for whatever reason may ignore some of the ads.

Some campaigns of mine actually do better on the lower positions, than the top positions. Again, the type of keyword and niche plays a great role. Some keywords attract searchers who love to compare. If you're AD is towards the button, then really you have a bigger chance of being the last site that they sit on, than being an AD on the top. This doesn't work with all comparison keywords, but for a good portion of them it does.

in my verticals i always test 4-6 then in for the kill with a new account/campaign 2-3 and ONLY #1 when that be-atch converts like a mofo (or i'm sending a message to my competition which can be often).

it really doesn't matter where you sit when the ad is just right. i'm killing it at ~40% ctr on one campaign in position 4 and this is over 1000's of clicks now. but that is rare i get it that right.
