Ad Servers: OpenX vs. Doubleclick

Will be doing 6 figure a month buys.

Which of these two should I use as an ad server, in your opinion? Or is there a third better option I should use instead.

Any and all experienced advice appreciated.

I would go with Doubeclick if you are spending that much. However OpenX can be used if you have a good database and good web server to handle the traffic.

But I bet you spend quite a bit on hardware for OpenX to handle a decent amount of impressions.
 
yes, OpenX is a resource hog, we've had quite our share of issues with their self-hosted app and had to heavily tweak it to even take a moderate load in a decent fashion resource-wise. If you're looking to host yourself, Renegade Internet's AdvertPRO is a very good solution.

Many third parties are interesting for you if you're looking to do buys like this, not just Doubleclick. Adjuggler has a good solution too, for instance. We've worked with about a dozen of these third party ad serving guys over the past couple of years, feel free to contact me if you need any input or ins with any of them.
 
is that question a joke? you shouldn't be media buying if you seriously just asked that question
