I have a weight loss blog which you can find in my signature link. I have pretty good traffic, i rank in the top ten for the keyword weight loss. Anyway, do you guys think there is a way i can make more income from affiliates then from AdSense?

I really don't know how to monetize my site at all.

LOL.... yes, I would say that if you have a fucking site related to weight loss then you can make more from fucking weight loss affiliate programs you fucking douchebag.

edit : sorry if that is a little harsh, really bad day

yeah for christ's sake, take down that fucking adsense. for one, you are breakng google's TOS rather blatantly with those fucking images. and two, push HOODIA! push METABOFIRE! fuck, push ANYTHING other than fuckgin nothing ! WTF... what would you like better - having 20% of your traffic clikc a $0.20 ad, or having 1% of your traffic buy a free trial of HOODIA which you get paid $30 for?!!?! wtf, why would even start a weight loss site without thinking about this ficking shit... fuck

you can find these offers via xy7, azoogle, copeac, not sure about maxbounty but probably... another you might want to check out is the new bob greene diet as seen on oprah... if you are doing PPC, watch what you bid on though for taht one... gl

Damn lucab... calm down. He's just asking a question.

Simple, to answer your question... there are plenty of weight loss products out there to promote. One I promote is called Proactol... I believe it's around $160 per sale. PM me and I'll show you where to go and get it all set up.

a suggestion on how to monetize effectively - eliminate the 'home' and replace it with a couple of pages that detail the following:
1. why should someone be worried about their weight? this will 'scare' them out of complacency(sp?) and get them to think about making a change
2. diet pills - while you might not personally support their product, but at least act like you do. for example, just because you think the above mentioned 'proactol' isn't good, it pays a nice commission, so unless you have an overly strong sense of moral duty, that would be what i would try and convince the overweight reader will help them best. give them other options - hoodia, etc..., giving an objective opinion, and then tell them what their best choice would be
3. wieght loss programs - again, present the user with options - they want to feel like they are in control. if you give objective information with which to base their decision on, they will be much more apt to buy a product via you, and possibly even the one an 'expert' such as yourself recommends

This is probably a good starting point for a better converting site. I think what you have looks good, but the adsense up top looking the way it does sort of drains credibility from your site. More importantly, if you have drawn a visitor to your site - why 'sell' them for mere pennies or a few dollars when you can possibly get them to buy something that is what they are looking for, and will pay you a nice commission.

I think that should help. It sounds as if myowndemon has some good offers to promote for you. Keep this in mind though - that proactol probably costs a lot of money to the buyer, and probably won't convert anywhere near where something like a $4 7 day supply of HOODIA would. Obv, one pays much more, but this is all stuff that you can test once you have a few different affiliate offers to promote.

best of luck

lucab

I think affiliates are better if you have low traffic because 1 click can = 5 cents while a free affilate sign up can = $1

I like promoting affiliate programs, I would rather get that $175.00 commission from one sale then pennies for tons of traffic

GSellars, yep. Everytime I convince someone to switch over from $5.00 a day Adsense traffic and they start making $50-$100/day, they never look back. :)
