Does anyone have any experience with adult affiliate sites?
Information on conversion rates?
Recommended affiliate programs?
Additional adult resources?

Just researching another niche. I'm finding some interesting stuff, but would like to hear from first hand experiences.

I used to build free sites..pretty easy way to get traffic.
It takes a lot of work though.. just like mainstream.. but you have the benefit of looking at naked chicks while working.

Netpond.com has a good forum for newbs

As for sponsors (affiliate programs), there's a crapload of them..

I hit all my friends up and made a good amount my first check, then promoted the site and havent looked back since. Also, theres over 20 sites to promote so you wont run out of stuff to promote. Premade layouts, premade content, ect. videos, and pictures. excellent program.

AdultFriendFinder is giving away a Ferrari to the top growth affiliate for August 1 - October 31.

Also, they raised the cams.com commission to $105 per order through Sept. 1.

I don't deal too much with adult aff. programs, so AFF is really the only one I've tried - converts like crazy though.
 
AFF and Nasty Dollars are both good programs. i'd avoid cams.com for right now unless you have videocam targetted traffic. Netpond is a good site for learning.

the biggest webmaster board is www.gofuckyourself.com. a LOT of non-work related stuff get posted there, which is good and bad :)

i got my online start in adult and honestly i find mainstream to be easier and more profitable.

I got started in adult also, and I have to agree with the mainstream is easier AND more profitable.

Lots of money on the adult side - but expenses (content and bandwidth) are high too...



If you are even considering going adult - you MUST go to http://tomsnewbiebooster.com/ first and start reading.... read for a couple of weeks straight before you dive in. Start at the bottom of the main board, and read up... Hit all the archives too. There's your Adult Website Academy right there...

For free traffic there are so many toplists and other exchanges which have so many bugs and holes you can exploit shit loads of traffic from them. Myspace and tagworld are just sitting there waiting for you to spam them. Millions of outdated software blogs on the internet waiting for you to embed redirects, same goes with alot of un updated forums aswell. Exchange links with adult sites buy links from avnads.com buy ppc, submit content to sites like camelstyle.net and do the same things you do on your mainstream sites. Theres loads of adult directories aswell etc.
 
I got my start in Adult and Gaming as most people know.. It's like taking an internship at a really large brokerage firm, and then going off on your own to become a hedge fund manager.

I doubt the adult industry is the same as it was when I was in there, as far as ease of use and cheap traffic/content/marketing is concerned, but although it is one of the most profitable industries around, it's also one of the most cutthroat competitive and coniving ones out there. Mainstream is definitely more wide open, easier, more fun, and a hell of a lot more untapped as far as cash potentials are concerned. You can literally make a living out of launching a new mainstream niche information site every day, for the rest of your life, and you'll still never dominate all of them out there. The earnings potential is huge in the longrun. But I guess that's the beauty of the adult business, it's fast cash for peddling porn is exciting in it's own right, and attracts a lot of the younger male crowd to strike it rich quick.

If you can make it big in adult/gaming, then you can dominate in mainstream. That's the approach I took, and I'm living proof of it.
 
I have one adult site that is doing very well but I am the exception, the adult market is waaaaaaay to saturated and it is very hard to make any money in it (compared to mainstream).

There is still big money to be made in adult content though if you have access to some cheap slutty girls and a photographer.

Well, I'm not going to devote 100% of my time to any one niche, and as I see it, Adult is just another niche. I did get my first adult site started. Check it out and let me know what you think. I always value the varied opinions on WF, this is a great group.

Yes, it's a long URL, but not too long, and it's easy to remember. PLUS, its keyword loaded. Those are the top 3 keywords for adult related searches according to Wordtracker. So, I'm happy about that. I've already started working on the SEO / linking / submitting stuff.

Also, thanks for the great links! I'll check those out soon.
