I recently bought a website that is designed to resell SEO services from a supplier. The services include social bookmarking, EDU backlinks, EDU comment links, and directory submissions. The profit margin after paying the supplier is 30-70%. I bought it with almost no traffic, but I have been promoting it and after a week I'm getting around 50UV/day and have made a sale or two.

The website is very well designed, has it's own promotional videos, a fully designed Twitter account and Facebook page, all geared toward selling SEO services and specifically backlinks. The only problem is that it almost looks too good for what it's selling and people often ask me for a physical address or phone number. I've had requests for custom SEO stuff, and the website has taken a $750 custom job, but I can't really talk the talk or show samples of work done.

I'm thinking that there may be a better option to utilize this site to sell legitimate SEO services on a monthly basis, and use automated techniques or partner with someone who can actually do the SEO tasks. My problem is that I work a full time job and I'm a full time student, trying to make extra money online without spending too much time per day on this.

Any advice on what I could do with this other than continue reselling simple backlink packages? If I can't find someone who is knowledgeable I'm considering promoting the heck out of it and selling the business as a whole.

If you have already done some work, show it to ur clients, if you can't show anything, find some customers and do cheap or free services so you can tell that u've worked on that particular projects. You shouldn't give anymore details then that anyway. Regarding a phone number that ur clients ask for, u can find some call center that can take ur calls and sell ur services. U need to show ur work otherwise u won't be able to build trust among ur clients. Don't sell it, work hard and get it right, eventually it will pay off ;)

I think you need to determine what your business model is and ask yourself:

How much time can I relaistically dedicate to this project if I am to take on monthly clients rather than just sell packaged products?
What services do I need to outsource?
What is a fair price to charge for these against competitors, whilst keeping a margin for yourself?

It sounds to me like you want to increase your services to be a full SEO agency, be it small. However, building a customer list to take on clients on a SEO monthly retainer basis is very different to seliing links packages, I KNOW as I do BOTH.

When you take on clients on a monthly basis, they need a lot more time and love. You will have to

Have regular calls with them to discuss strategy and plans going forward.
Provide monthly reports that include the month on month changes in rankings, traffic, link building activity, on-site activity.

As well as quarterly review meetings to give your clients some face time.

You will really have to give yourself to their business and industry to learn how it works and how a full SEO stratgey works with it.

Theres always the option of offering packaged services online that are monthly, however, you will really have to build some trust with your online buyers before they give you a monthly commitment online, as they will know that your not available all the time. This will still require monthly reporting of you activity.

My advice to you is that either increase your packages and outsource, so there is less time involved. And once you build this up more you can offer monthly link packages to existing customers. If this prooves to be successful then you will be making enough money to justify focussign on this project without going to a full time job.

Thanks, hope this helps.
