Ok I'm using clickbooth and I register with one of their programs, I get a link to be used in adwords (I notice not all of their programs, in fact more than half, seem to not have adwords usable links is that normal or am I doing it wrong? Anyway...) I take that link and I go to my adwords campaign, I make an ad group, the ad links directly to the link clickbooth gave me. I've gotten 8 clicks now (With a horrible ctr, 1781 impressions with only 8 clicks, I just started with all this affiliate stuff, so bad that Im about to fall below google's 0.05% standard and have to start another ad group) Anyway 8 clicks, 0 sales. I know what some "average" or "good" ctr's are, but I haven't been able to find a "good" standard of conversion rates. But Im thinking 5% conversion rate seems fair, 1 out of 20 right?

I heard that you for some reason, -need- a landing page, even if your an affiliate marketer. I dont understand this though, what for? The programs landing page looks great to me, certainly better than anything I could make, and its highly relevant and so forth.

So my main question is: Why do I supposedly -need- a landing page for adwords? Is it because conversions dont count without one or what? Because Im worried about my clicks being actual conversions but me not being paid for it because I'm oblivious to how the system works.

Thanks

Read all of the posts on WF about ppc marketing and you'll get a clue.

Use the search function....it's a goldmine.

Shut down your campaign until you have read how to properly set up and run a ppc campaign (all right here on WF)

It might do you a world of good to also do a search here on Clickbooth. With a rep like they have, all your hard work could be for nothing.

Don't use clickbooth bro, they're horrible.
