I have just begun this as a career and one thing I am going to say is that Wickedfire helped out tremendously. Another thing you really need to focus on is Pre-selling. I have a site where the main revenue is CPA(cost Per Action) It is a wesite that using a bunch of different affiliates in one niche and is just acting like a middle man. I opened a few myspace accounts and convinced them to sign up for a newsletter/info on the product. I sent all the addresses a info packet in their email boxes about different packages and waited for any kind of response.
At first it was slow but then my email starting getting about 3 or 4 replies an hour. Obviously, these were not sales yet. So what I did was dugg through my database from the newsletter signups. Looked for the people who have replied and Called them. Yes I went that far and used my expertise as an ex tele-marketer. Most o f the people I called were reluctant to just buy from the site and when I called them they felt a lot better about it. I told them straight up that it isnt my product but i do stand behind it 100% they went to my affiliates sites and then I was estatic.
I never made $600 a day back in my old telemarketing days.
