So I have been using YSM for PPC ads, and it has done so-so. I have only been affiliate marketing for not quite 2 months. I made $70 my first month, and about $175 this month so far. Not too bad.

I have some family expenses coming up, along with having to pay for the back side of my roof. (storm damage only damaged front, so that is all the insurance will pay. But who just re-roofs the front on a 13 year old house?). With that said, I feel bad about spending money online right now. I thought I would take a month off (if I can resist) from PPC campains. Now I can't get the itch off of affiliate marketing though.

I already have a host for my blog, so essentially the hosting is free for my new site/landing page. I created for starters a subdomain with my targeted keyword in it. So I have my-keyword.shudogg.com. I then created the landing page, and have included the keyword many times. It is a keyword similar to "Home Loans Miami", only for a different city lol :P . That keyword is in the description twice, keywords twice (along with about 20 other keywords), and in the title of the page, and the body of the page about 5 times. I was trying to get some keyword density without spamming. I have the link to my offer obviously like a normal landing page.

I then created a sitemap file, and submitted the URL to google using thier add site page. This was about 48 hours ago. I checked today by doing a search, and a SERPS checker, and it still isn't listed.

My question is, about how long should it take to find my site in the search? Then I can determine if I can scale the page up to rank the first page (if it isn't already there), or to target a different keyword. Also, is there certain things (search volume, competition, amount of pages, ect) that I should look for when determining if it is a possible keyword to rank for? After reading my steps on how/where I placed my keywords, do you have an recommendations?

Thanks in advance. This is my first shot at SEO for affiliate offers. I have ranked some keywords either first or on the first page.

I am first for "site hoppin hack", #3 for "entrecard powerdropping". Now the volume of those searches I don't know, but I was suprised to see a not so bad keyword rank so well for me.

For a blog to rank, all you need is an expanded pinglist. Also submit your rss feed through feedburner, that will index you in no time.

Make your blog posts permalinked, the Options/permalinks/custom/ "/%postname%/" then update your .htaccess little hack.

Social bookmark your site as well.

Put the anchor text that you want to rank for in incoming links in your blogroll and your categories.

If the niche is competitive, try to rank for terms with < 50.000 results.

Keywords with <20.000 results are very easy to rank for and can give you a good amount of traffic if you gather enough of them.

Traffic is irrelevant. I sell yacht charters costing $4000 with 12 visitors per day. Just rank for good terms, and customers will come.

Oh, I almost forgot. BUILD LINKS.
