Discovered an interesting way to get targeted traffic to your affiliate offer. Still in experimental phase, so not sure how successful this will work yet but it goes something like...

1 - Find a script like BANS that scrapes eBay
2 - Set up a store that has products similar to an affiliate offer (green tea?)
3 - Change script so all links redirect to the affiliate offer/landing page instead of auction listings

From my experience it takes a little while for the search engines to pick up a site like this, but usually the traffic will last at least a month before going in the sandbox.

If the search traffic doesn't last this technique may still make a halfway decent landing page.

thanks for sharing- how is conversion given the user isn't taken to what they think they will be? (not percentages- but in general what have you seen? 10x worse?)

Unless you hit a hot micro niche, and good keywords, you will have a hard time getting over 10 hits a day. It will take probably 2 weeks to get indexed. Then to get decent traffic, you would have to be right on the money with your keyword rankings.

Most of the time with an organic site, it takes at least a month to get the keywords/density/ect worked out. By the time you get everything tweaked to get decent traffic, you will be sandboxed.

It could pose a benefit for those good with organic SEO that can avoid or get out of the sandbox. Everyone else will be slapped before they start making any decent money.

agree with you man

There is a faster way. A quick burn splog can get indexed in 2 days, hitting the exact keywords you are after. The pings will get many pages linked from many blog aggregators, and after 7-10 days when you get the traffic spike, you can do a catch-all redirect to your offer. When traffic dies, switch back to the splog.
You are spot on the concept, but you are using a wrong tool.
