So, I'm learning the whole build sites/SEO organic growth thing. Spent a bunch of time researching products, found one I liked with no leaks or popups, and built a site for it.
Tonight, as I'm about to link in the vendor's sales page to my nice new site , I find they've added a "leaving the site" popup. Not just a popup but one that gives a discount. WTF.
1) Are all vendors adding that popup now? It just seems sleazy, I can't believe it works on anyone. I'm building a mailing list too and I need to keep the products looking clean.
2) Is it common to get a discount offer when leaving a vendor site? I'd think it'd cut into your profits by training people all over the web to leave right away.... but what do I know I'm a newbie.
