i want to run wsj, but want to drive ppc traffic straight to the offer. anyone?

thanks,

The only place you'll find WSJ for search is CJ, and you can't do direct to offer there. It doesn't take much effort to make a quick landing page for an offer like that - you won't need much presell text, and can probably copy one of their own LP pages.

They're somewhat strict on search restrictions since they're a huge brand and all, but if you play it right, you can definitely bank off of that offer.

thanks guys. yah, i ran wsj about a year ago via ppc WITH a lander, all above board and still got a cease and desist because of my domain name. yah, they are strict, but you can bank em. thanks for the tips.

What network were you running with? Worst comes to worst, use another domain with the trademark in the subdomain or folder path.

Did you actually get a C&D from WSJ, or was it just Google killing the ad?

Yes, Hy*dra has it, and I'm trying to understand how I can promote this offer when there's only two creatives, and neither are useful. There's a large landing page graphic and an email campaign, but no 768x60 banners, and they don't allow search.

The "no text links" is unclear, so I asked a question about this in the noobie area but no answer. Does it mean I can't run a raw text link at the site offers page without the graphic they give me? Or does it relate to search?

I asked an affiliate manager exactly what it means, and she said it means no links without graphics, but I see loads of sites offering deals like this using just the affiliate tracking link. Are they breaking the rules or what?

No clue - As I mentioned above, WSJ can be strict with their rules.

I just looked at the Hydra offer vs the CJ offer, and on average over the past year, my commission with CJ per sale has been higher than what Hydra is offering - CJ is 35% of the sale, and offers monthly, yearly, and even more expensive yearly plans. It looks like most of the buyers through my lander ended up going with the yearly or the yearly print + online offer (something like $150 cost/year).

Speak of the devil, but I just got another WSJ sale in CJ - Somehow MSN decided to index my landing page that I only ran on Google for a few months, and it ranks decently for a WSJ related term. Sale: $155.48 Commission: $62.19.

create your own banner duh.

Run a text link, and just don't be misleading. I'm sure that's fine. Anyway, look into the CJ program, since it'll probably pay better.
