I have an idea for a new type of site, but before I launch I want to run the idea by a few of you that already have sites ranking in the health, diet, and ecig niches.

Not sure what you're talking about. This is a new idea.. why would it be in the SERPS?

Ok... A better approach would be to contact webmasters in your niche, maybe one might like what you have to tell them...

I was just going off of what you wrote.
