Anyone's Sales Drop Like Crazy Over The Holiday?

This new year's weekend my sales dropped completely...made 1 sale total friday-monday (was averaging about 4/day the week before)

Is this normal? Or should I be worried the market for my product is just drying up? I'm also pissed that I made the rookie mistake of doubling my campaign spend friday night (because i was making profit the whole week) only to lose all that money :D

That's affiliate marketing for you... Next week you might make more than any other week but then the following week you will not get any sales at all.

Just because sales start coming in doesn't guarantee that they will be coming in steadily, at the same pace forever, otherwise we'd all be checking our stats from our yachts in the Bahamas.

And also, never judge how the rest of the year will go based on the Holidays...

Holidays sales for me have been typically higher as usual. Is your product something that people don't purchase over the holidays? Are impressions/clicks the same? Did the affiliate program change anything?

I'm selling a guide for a popular video game that came out just before christmas. Sales were good for a week just after christmas (when I started selling) and then seem to have dropped off NYE weekend. Impressions, clicks, order-form impressions are all the same, it's just the conversions are not happening.

I know the merchant was going to raise the price starting jan 1, but I keep checking the order form and it's still the same price.

Hopefully it's just a matter of people being out partying/traveling for NYE weekend etc. instead of sitting in front of their computers playing video games.

I had nothing for about 10 days around Christmas and New Year's Eve, but it's starting to pick back up now. Definitely scared me for a bit. I wasn't doing IM stuff at this time last year so I'm not sure if it's always like this for Christmas or what.

Actually my sales increased during the holidays! I guess it depends on the type of the product you are selling.
