hi guys,
i have been learning php and from what i know it can be used for
1. Building Data Driven Websites,
2. Building Web Application & Tools.
3. Black Hat SEO.

is there anything else i am missing?

From a marketers point of view it seems building black hat tools for yourself and using them for black hat sites to generate traffic is all what php offers.
Is there anything else php can help an affiliate marketer?

With search engines getting smarter day by day, would mastering php help a lot in the long run in affiliate marketing (do u see a lot of black hat sites making money in the furure)?

If you're doing PPC you can insert the visitors keyword in your LP copy and even in your title. You can do geo-targeting as well.

Learn PHP, learn basic programming concepts, and you'll start seeing ways to solve all kinds of problems you didn't see before.

Honestly, what?

Scrapers, database driven sites, switching out affiliate offers on the fly, WordPress itself, WordPress plugins, filtering content, rewriting content, geotargetting, dynamic dates, every single thing in my signature, and about a trillion other things...

PHP is a programming language. That means it lets you use computers to solve problems. What is your problem?

@ Refrozen....I can chime in here. Although you are sagacious in pointing out that ^^ is a very general question.

I'll share how I enhanced the operational efficiency of some our operations with the cousin of automation - outsourcing. Both of course are ways to give an organization more time and greater output with less hassle.

We sat down and looked at each phase of our operation cycle. If you think of it as a continuum it would be like this:

Keyword/Market Research-->Domain Research/Acquisition-->Content Selection-->Website Development & Architecture-->Traffic Generation (mainly seo in this case)-->Monetization

Then what we did is a sort of time and motion study. If you can recall this is basically where you record (either through writing or whatever) what you do on a regular basis, say a week. Then you assess what can and should be outsourced and then you implement it.

Well, we are now doing this with regard to automation of which php comes in quite handy.

So, for anyone into this conversation, I would say please feel free to share any of your processes related to "applied php" with regard to this business process:

Keyword/Market Research-->Domain Research/Acquisition-->Content Selection-->Website Development & Architecture-->Traffic Generation (mainly seo in this case)-->Monetization

By the way, the "War chest" thread has some nifty tools with regard to keyword research and a few things that would apply (using the above framework) to dynamic content as well.

Any thoughts?

PHP is great for research on traffic, demographics, keywords, ad copy, & competitive analysis for your niche.

It's more powerful for background research than it could ever be for coming up with content that sells or a template spinner

thanks everyone. Now I am motivated a lot more to master it. Do share any other applications of PHP you have found useful.
