I was making $3000 a day back in 04 and 05 until the quality score and a couple merchants asked me to take my ads down. I got heavily into loans soon after and that took all my time so haven't paid much attention. Just found this site a month or so ago.

I thought arbi was dead and recently heard google was taking out arbi's.

Does this still work?

It's harder than it used to, but when done right, and with enough volume - it works. QS, smartpricing, and Google's recent attitude towards arbi has squeezed the profit margins though. If you can get back to $3k a day again, I will be impressed. ;)

Just 2-weeks ago someone in another forum was only doing $90 a day w/ arbitrage and they got the Google email stating their adsense account was going to be disabled.

Arbi atleast works for me ;)
Been doing a steady 100$ a day for the past month or so

I thought ALL of this was avoidable by:

  • Not directing Adsense ads to solely more ads - direct it to an article at least
  • Not doing Adsense->Adwords arbi - use second/third tier PPC campaigns

My advice would to be to build small mini site with at least 75% unique content (100% preferred). 5 Pages of Content about the subject not including the privacy policy, contact...etc.

Stay away from adwords to adsense....although with formula above you will be safer than you would be otherwise.

No more than 2 formats of adsense on each page and have them nicely intergrated and not just slapped up there. Include a logo and other pictures on the subject.

This should prove to not only help your quality scores....but should make your site somewhat useful to some people and also get you a decent CTR on your adsense...

I don't buy the "stay away from adwords -> adsense or google will ban you" story. I can see why you wouldn't want to do it from a pure ROI point of view (since 2nd and 3rd tier traffic is far cheaper), but not because they'll slap you with the ban stick.

Lets look at this issue logically from Google's point of view. As far as they're concerned, only 3 things should matter.

1. End user experience. We all know Google is a real Nazi about this. If you have a straight-up MFA site, that pisses people off, Google will ban you from adsense regardless of your traffic source.

2. Conversion for the advertisers. If your site produces 10,000 clicks and none of them convert, it's a good sign that your site sucks or is MFA. Of course, only Google knows which sites convert well and which ones don't. In this case, it may actually be *better* to use Adwords for your traffic source because 2nd and 3rd tier Search engines suck donkey balls as far as affilate conversion goes.

3. Their own profits. Using Adwords certainly doesn't hurt.

On their part, Google has been spectacularly ambiguous regarding their arbitrage policy. My personal opinion is that they're alright with it as long as you don't do it too blatantly using thousands of Arbi 1.0 sites. I know for a fact that a number of people here on WF are doing Adwords -> Adsense arbi quite happily. Loads of people use adwords to drive traffic to their sites that just happen to have adsense. Where do you draw the line?

Dont make it looks like an obvious arbitage site and you probably wont get banned. Technically directing adwords traffic to any page with adsense ads could be considered arbitrage.

Do you even know what you are talking about? Thats some pretty shitty advice.
