I have been told links from .gov domains are the best.

What is a good strategy to get links from a .gov domain?

Search Google, Yahoo, etc using the search formula to find .gov and .edu blogs. Check page rank, etc with a toolbar in your browser. And finally find blogs that are related to your niche and that don't moderate comments. If they do, add a real comment and put your link inside of it. Using the search method, you can find thousands of .edu/.gov blogs to get backlinks on without spending money.. Or you can always hire someone on WF.

Thanks for that fiverr link, also what Contract said, i'll try find the formula for you and post it here

Can't edit my post for some reason so I'll make another:

Backlinks from .edu and .gov sites are thought to be particularly valuable, so we take a look at have to find blogs on these sites that you can backlink from. Just Google some of the following and you will find plenty of relevant blogs.

“keyword phrase”+inurl:blog site:.edu
“keyword phrase”+inurl:blog site:.gov
site:.edu inurl:blog “keyword phrase”
site:.gov+wp-admin
site:.gov+blog
site:.gov+comment.php
site:.gov+”submit site”
site:.gov+”submit your site”
site:.gov+”add url”
site:.edu inurl:blog “keyword” “comment”
site:gov – ”you must be logged in” -”comment closed”
site:edu – ”you must be logged in” -”comment closed”

Are .gov backlinks much more valuable than .edu? It seems like they would be because the criteria for having a .gov site is much stricter than for .edu. I'm sure the .edu backlinks are worth pursuing, but I'm just wondering where your time is better spent.

I didn't know about it but thumbs up with these.

Be careful when getting .edu and .gov links. Google already knows people have been buying those to rank higher. If your sites has very few natural (or natural looking) links and a high amount of .edu and .gov links, that could be seen as a red flag by Google.

Let's say you buy .gov links to your penis pill site. There aren't a lot of scenarios where the webmaster of a government site would deliberately link to a penis pill site so again, this could be seen as a red flag by Google.

Keep things natural. When getting links from .edu and .gov sites, make sure the subject of your site is at least a bit related to the content on the .edu or .gov pages that link to you.

This is often overlooked. +rep for bringing it up
