I'm curious what everyone's experience is when it comes to conversion rates based on the website platform or design.

1. Blog or Website Template?
2. One Page ad for one affiliate or Info site with multiple affiliates?
3. Generic Design vs. Custom?
 


dude come on thats a silly ass question. it depends on so many things mainly niche. If you really wanna know, test it, no harm in making 5 landing pages for 1 offer to find the best

I'm admittedly new to affiliate marketing but this is a question that can benefit everyone on the forum. It may be a silly question but I am new to affiliate marketing and was simply wanting an answer based on your experience. Isn't that what forums are for so that everyone can learn from others experience?
 
yeah i understand that you wanna learn from others experience but no one can give you an answer to that. It completely depends on what your promoting and how. maybe give us a niche your thinking of getting into, like if you asked that question about ringtones, thats a question that can be answered.

Well, the problem is that there isn't a secret recipe for best conversions. It depends on your traffic sources (ppc, searchengines, etc.), your niche and many other things.

Do you have enough knowledge in the niche to start a blog and do regular updates ? Do you want to run a PPC campain ? Do you want organic traffic ? What product/service do you want to sell ? What do your competitors do (often a great way to find what's working well, check competion, steal..ehh..learn)

I understand where you are comin from and I understand that no matter what you have to do your own personal experiments but I'm just looking for some general, non niche, info.

Out of all the niches you have sites in what is your personal experience. That's all.

I'm going to ask a question or two about niches in a minute.
 
A one page ad is really a landing page, which you normally use for the ppc campaigns. An information site is totally different and normally gets alot of traffic from various places.

You can't really compare these 2.
 
Different traffic sources, different niches, different audience demographics, different ad network requirements (i.e. Google) -- there is no right answer. The only right answer is you have to test, and if you want to maximize your earnings you have to continue testing.

You might want to try again and ask, "When promoting XYZ, what have you found works best?"

Dude, no one that has replied in your thread is trying to steal your ideas. If you want some help but are worried about someone jacking your idea then just PM someone you trust (with their permission, of course).
 
No I'm not worried about anyone stealing my ideas. I'm just not that far along in my decision making process to get into particular niches.

I'm just learning about the basics while I get things ready.
 
you can make a blog and a website look EXACTLLY the same. Blog just is going to provide some content management side. Which is great if that's what you're looking for.
 
I agree with smaxor. Just about every one of my sites is powered by Wordpress. It can literally do anything, in my opinion.
 
You have to design to convert, it doesnt really matter whether you have a blog or static site, what does matter is the objective of the site. Is the site selling something, is it an informational site (content)? or is it a lead generation site, like a landing page, it really doesnt matter what you use for any of the above as long as your achieving what the the site was designed for in the first place.
