Best directroy solution (open source)

Sup homies? I am just looking for suggestions as to what software to use for a directory. i am thinking like a CMS with directory plugin or something. I know from experiene that the free wordpress solutions are 'lacking' maybe joomla etc has a good one and i can get a bit of experience with that. Second choice i will use a standalone directroy solution. This is gonna be for like cafes restaurants etc... Answers on the back of a postcard, please!

You can try to use Joomla with JomDirectory component (its good but paid), or if you want a free version, you can use Sobi2 .
If you want to make something similar with Open Directory Project (ODP), you can use Joomla with ODP extension.
You can found all of this extensions at extensions.joomla.org

I have a directory up since 2005 or 2006 running on phplinkdirectory and it does its job, including clean urls and paypal payments for listings. Recent versions might have better features.

I have made an attempt at joomla + sobi2 on a multilanguage site but, maybe because I strongly hate joomla, I wouldn't go for it again, despite it's a not so bad solution for joomla and it's free.
