I'm not asking for techniques or step-by-step instructions. I just need someone to point me in the right direction for a good starting point. I'm tired of working for other companies producing content for $5 bucks a pop and I need to start building a business of my own.

There are so many different options that I am a bit at sea on where to begin.

Any suggestions from the more experienced and preferably successful marketers in here?

I am definitely working my way through the stickies first. I guess what I wanted was more of what the best/easiest to start with/fastest earning direction to take. There are so many business models but I figure I'd be better off picking one to learn first. I'm just not sure which one would be the best one to begin with.

Thanks, though, and I'll keep reading. There is so much information on these boards that I'm overwhelmed.

I have definitely been considering some blogging, especially as there are a few niches that I actually have fairly extensive knowledge. It's the monetization aspect where I am still uncertain. I may try for a different model for each of several blogs and see which one seems to work best.

thats the best idea as different models will suit different niches.

some things you may consider

CPA offers
EPN products

and if all else fails

Adsense

when you have finnished with the stickies - you can order the other posts by amount of replies/views

you will find some more gems that didnt quite make it to sticky but are well worth a look :)

you will also find lots of boobs threads but hey ho :)

If you're going the blogging route, be sure to check out the stuff on making some blog farms, so that you can create a metric arse tonne of them, and then have them redirect back to the real blog you're attempting to rank for with your original content.
There's no reason you can't use some automated systems to help you get recognition for your real work.

doesn't this get your shit de-indexed pretty quick? I mean, thats basically the definition of black hat.

EPN = Ebay Partner Network. These days a bit difficult to get into but give it a try. If you are going the blogging way, i would advise against monetizing it initially. Once you build up the traffic and trust you can start with testing different monetization techniques.

You r welcome..........no prob with that........we all started as newbies....actually most people here are really helpful to people who are hard working and help themselves.
