Hi,

I'm new here and hope to learn a lot - I've been attempting affiliate marketing for the last couple of years without much success, but am starting fresh and hopefully will make a better go of it.

I'm getting ready to set up a new site and am just curious if anyone has any advice/suggestions on the best way to approach it (and I'm in the health/fitness/weight loss industry, if that matters).

My first idea would be to have a site that reviews a variety of different diet programs online (mostly on Clickbank) and then regularly post articles targeting various keywords on the site with topics related to fitness/dieting (I'm a writer and personal trainer by trade, so the content is not a problem).

Then link to those reviews of the products in some of the posts I create.

OR,

would it be better to just have a site where it's more of a review site, with the landing page the review itself and just focus on getting incoming links to that page?

With that I'll obviously want to target a few different long-tail keywords so would it be best to write articles related to the diet program and linking to the home page/review, or just build a bunch of landing pages on the site that are all a review just focusing on different keywords (and try to get incoming links to each of those pages)?

Hopefully that makes sense.... I know there's not one 'best' way, but does one of those tend to produce superior results?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
