Does anyone have experience or know what it costs to get a billboard?

I have no CPM number in mind, I just want to find out what you paid & for how many impressions.

Just trying to illustrate to a potential client the value of Facebook for impressions.

No. I just want to see the comparison between the billboard cost for impressions of one that you can find off the highway and what a friend of mine is getting with a small ad on Facebook ad.

I found an article that a static highway billboard is around $2.05 per 1,000 impressions, while he currently is receiving that at 30 cents on Facebook.

I have a strange feeling that businesses that advertise on Highway billboards don't pay CPM.... Just sayin'

They would more than likely charge by the month.

Monthly billboard charge divided by average monthly highway traffic in thousands equals CPM for the billboard.

Billboards on higher traffic highways probably cost more than those on lower traffic highways.

Outdoor media planner by day here. Traditionally bought on 2week cycles, flat fee.

Location determines the price paid, along with other factors ( line of sight, footfall / traffic, obstruction by street furniture, illumination etc)

research suggests cpts as they are known in traditional media buying (same deal as cpm model) are around $1-2 for national campaigns)

individual sites cpts will vary according to traffic volume.
