For most of you this is peanuts but ive averaged $10 a day give or take for quite some time now

Since I have started reading the on WF, Webpublisher and DP ive been equiped with so much knowledge to increase my traffic and CTRs

This is a very informative forum and Im gratefull to be apart of it! :xyxthumbs:

Good for you. That is a significant increase in daily earnings! I bet you'll be looking forward to your next Google cheque (or deposit). :)

That's sweet man, keep it up! I'm curious, what did you do exactly to make such a huge jump in earnings? Was this with the same amount of traffic?

I'm also keen to know the answer to this one...

did you bump up the traffic, or improve the conversion from visitor->clicker ?

hazard a guess for us, but what do you think might have been the defining turning point?

Well, my traffic has been steadily increasing over the past few weeks..(Bought Aaron Wall's SEO book, Myspace etc) I also removed some adsense ads from my pages to leave only one ad unit - so theres no low end crappy ads

I still have a long way to go with the SEO tactics I implemented (trail n error) but I must say I have been targeting Yahoo, MSN alot instead of fusing bout Google..

Finally taking inspiration from all the Jo(h)n's on the forum and really grinding hard..

Im sure the earnings wont be consistant.. hoping to increase my average tho.

@Penguin Half Banner (234x60) & Banner (468 x 60)

Blended into body copy Button (125x125) & Small Rectangle (180x150) does well

I used to also have link units and skyscrapers on some of the pages which I removed.

I'm just a MySpace idiot. What is it that you actually do on MySpace? Trains? Honest networking? Zillions of profiles?

And then what? Are you just linking to your site legitimately? Are you pulling a bait and switch ("more pics" that leads to your site)?

I know there have been some myspace threads here lately, but I just have to confess that I don't get it.

BTW, when I say that I don't "get it", I don't mean just MySpace marketing, I mean all of MySpace. After making a profile and poking around, it remains a total mystery to me why anyone wants to spend time there, let alone how anyone turns this desire into a way of making money. So yeah, I realize that my MySpace questions are like the guy who says "I built a webpage with FrontPage, but now how do other people see this page that's on my computer."

I realize that millions and millions of people spend half their day there and I must be pretty out of touch but, hey, I haven't had television in my house since about 1981... Half the people here were barely born then.

I also found the thread about adders that you started.

So basically, its like this
- get lots of friends, with bots or lots of typing. Preferably get them targeted to a group like "cars" or "fishing" or whatever.
- build an affiliate site related to that interest

So that I get from the adder thread and the marketing tool thread. From there, though, are you
- counting on massive traffic from zillions of friend requests who get the request and then come to check out who you are and click through to your affiliate site

- or do you send out a bulletin (whatever that is - like I said, totally clueless) to all your friends (all your friends in that group?) and wait for them to come to your site?

Are you putting affiliate codes in the bulletins, or is the idea just to get them to your profile and from there to your site?

Maybe if I learn how to use my cell phone, MySpace will start making more sense ;-)

Congrats mate, i am still under 10, but these forums are helping me lot. Thanks for share your knowledgements.

Thats about right

MySpace will give you spikes of traffic and hopefilly 5% of that will be return visitors..

With MySpace, PPC campaigns and some good ol' SEO elbow grease I managed to get my traffic up quite nicely..

I personally think myspace is degrading the internet with the quality of pages their hosting - but thats always gonna happen if you give complete novices the ability to customize their web presence. Although it stays a great way to network and meet people regardless if your spamming the shit out of them or not.. :zzwhip:

Thanks.

On the one hand, I agree. It's not so much the information (of which there is precious little), but the head-breaking designs. I would enjoy MS much more if people who can't design didn't! On the other hand, I searched on the area I live in and found someone who's husband is a contractor in our area (there are very few here) and as it turns out we're bulidng a house. We already have a contractor, but I might have at least gotten a bid from them if I had found them earlier.

That makes me think that MS can be useful as a customer and as a business, totally apart from spamming. Obviously, building contractors are a little different from ringtones and don't lend themselves to spam in quite the same way.

The "degrading" of the web in terms of information. I think in the long run, that's the search engine's job. Basically, MySpace is sort of like grabbing every conversation in the world going on at a given moment, some of which are between George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld (likely to be important), some are between my wife and I (unlikely to be interesting to anyone but us, but occasionally we have interesting things to say) and some are between a car salesman and his mark (likely to be spammy, but possibly useful). If I had all that noise flowing into my head, I couldn't think, but I wouldn't say that allowing everyone to talk, even non-professional, degrades the quality of the "talkosphere". Fortunately, we have a good way of filtering that. Ultimately, that's the problem with the internet - we dont' have a good way of filtering it. In the meantime, that "problem" creates opportunity for people who want to make money off spammy information.

Congrats man. From the beginning I've always tried to look at my increase in earnings as a percentage increase. Makes things seem a lot more impressive and motivational at the beginning. i.e. Going from $1 to $2 is a 100% increase, etc.
