I want to make money online and have been doing a lot of research in the past couple weeks. I want to know if my approach to affiliate marketing is a realistic one.

What I do is find keywords with high search volume and low competition (duh..) and write articles on them. I use the key terms in the title and 2-3 times in the body (~300 words). I then post each article to GoArticles and ArticleDashBoard with my affiliate links for more information on the product.

Does ANYONE make money this way? So far I've written 6 decent original articles but i'm hesitant to write more if i'm just wasting my time.

Also, how long will it take the articles to get indexed on google?

Maybe I should just really invest the time now and make a website.. I would just be sooo pissed if I went to all that trouble and still had little success.

Shut the fuck up, stop posting, read the forum and buy xsitepro2 <=== your website "trouble" is now no longer an excuse.

I'm trying not to spend out of my pocket on what is only a hobby at this point. i'm a student and simply don't have the captial to invest. I'm happy to REinvest any earnings that this venture yields though.

There's no way i can swing $200 on that xsite software. I will try to pirate it however. :)

Any free (or very cheap) suggestions for easy and professional site creation? I have too many finals to learn html/flash etc..

I'd love to pay my team of coders, writers and designers to build you a great site from the ground up.

Oh, I do you mind if I buy you a domain name too? I was thinking a three letter .com

Free, Easy and Professional

If it is free and easy it will not be professional.
If it is free and professional, it will not be easy.
If it is easy and professional, it will not be free.

You can have any 2 out of 3. You can not have it all.

Bush77,

In this game you will often invest your time and hard-earned money into ventures that have zero chance of succeeding. But you can't let a fear of failure stop you from trying out new stuff. Stop reading and just keep writing/ doing work.

People do make money "article marketing" but the money earned is never knew how much the gurus promise. That's okay though - it's better than endlessly reading forums and you'll get experience. You can move on to more profitable stuff later.

Just stop dillydallying :)

omg a non sarcastic response!

I appreciate the input and I agree with you. I've spent 95% of my time thus far just reading, researching, and essentially wasting time. I guess i'll really exert my self and re evaluate in a few weeks time.

A loud rotating penis that is unclosable from a pc where you have no admin rights without warning. Very awesome of you. I wish I was your father so that i could feel the feeling of truly being proud.

These guys are correct, it takes more time and money then some people make you think. Why are you doing article marketing if you need a web site? If you are pointing to the advertiser with an affiliate link, I doubt that's to your advantage. If you are any good at writing, you can charge $20 and up for a single article. but the content needs to be interesting enough for a high PR site to want to pick it up. Usually article marketing is used to get good inbound links to your site (seo purposes) not money making purposes.

Try the author thing.
