that bright red on green, even the green gradient, is too contrasty. Don't get them too close together though or you'll miss out on the red/green color blind contingent.

eta: you might also want to skim over this article on seo and see what's missing on your site.
SiteProNews: Top 20 Contributing Factors For Google SEO

Not that it's the be-all and end-all article, but there's a few things you might want to consider.

Even the header is awful?

I don't know if I'd call the header awful, but it certainly doesn't look like it has anything to do with Persian rugs. Looks more like you're selling watermelons. Try to incorporate elements of that rug image into the header colors.

Is there a setting in BANS to get only auctions that already have some bids? I had a substantial jump ( from a buck a day to two bucks a day, lol ) on a site where I restricted it to only "hot" auctions.

Why not spend a little time with some keywords and a domain generator? I would think you could find a decent .com name. For example, persianrugbuys.com is available.

I would maybe try and find some images of a some rugs layed out in a killer room with nice furnishings. Earth tones for background color and text. Look at some home furnishing sites.

Check and see if there is a persian rug buying guide on eBay and maybe get some inspiration for content. Don't come off like they are your rugs.

Does it really make a big difference if I use a .com domain?

Ben89, I don't want to cause offence - but Ebay Affiliate sites look a lot better when done with Wordpress and PHPBay for a paid solution, or Wordpress and a bit of tinkering for a free solution.

I personally click straight out of a site if it looks a bit amateur.

Then there's the issue of content and SEO.......

:R:

Oh yeah, I nearly forgot to LOL at this........

Fin. Love the 404's too :)

You have the right idea with making a site but as most people mentioned... you need a better template or format or whatever bans uses.

Wordpress & Phpbay are awesome because of the million templates and plugin's to optimize for SEO.
