Hey, excuse me I'm a total noob.

I signed up at cj.com and want to create a first landing page, but I don't have a clue how to do this.

Can anyone familar with that please outline the basic steps?
Do you search an advertiser, then create the page, and just place the banners on your site?
Or how should this be done, whats the workflow for this?

Please elaborate on your level of cluelessness. R U asking us how to create a webpage, as in you don't know any HTML? Or what? Ideally, you would look thru the offers and decide what you want to promote and then setup your page, site, blog, campaign or whatever to promote it. You will need CJ merchant's approval so your presentation must be professional. Have you signed up with any other networks besides CJ? You might want to start off with offers that aren't quite so strict.
 
sorry, to formulate it a bit easier, its not about html:
what I meant is the workflow you create a landing page.
do you sign up for an offer, and maybe get a template or something you can use for your custom page, and _then_ build the page.

or the other way around: do you look at the offers, chose one, build a site, integrate the offers banners on your site, and sign up with that page for the offer (and wait for approval)?
 
Since you're just getting started, I would recommend that you join a network that doesn't require additional approval for individual offers. This will save you tons of hassles until you establish a reputation of operating high quality landing pages as well as the ability to deliver conversions. How you set up your campaigns is a matter of personal preference and it seems that you have grasped the general idea. It's best to learn by doing and once you've setup a couple of promotions you will develop your own flow as well as shortcuts. Speaking of which, there are networks that will set up your landing pages for you, eliminating that work altogether.
 
Ok, that means my 2nd paragraph is the usual way this is done, right?

And, that would be my next question, do you have some links/starting points for the affiliates you are referring to, that are easier to start with?
 
Hey some tips for ya.

Do you work with PPC?

Sign up offers, use spyfu, see what works, imitate, split test and track.

I hate banner, integrate your offer with your LP. Just use review-type LP or if you want to push only one product that is OK too, depending on what you want to promote. Test & track, test & track, test & track, collect money, reinvest, buy a fleshlight.

If you can't make your own landing page use LP design service. I made my own LP, but want to pimp it out. Right now I'm workin with MyOwnDemon. But with only 5 minute chat I know he is the real deal. Waitin for his result now :D

Bout the affiliate network you talkin: I work with adult affiliate program. I never ask they permission regarding my LP before & never see any issues.
 
Ah, that review-type is what I meant with the custom LandingPage, but I did not find anything like that on CJ? Just banner, text, etc

Which adult affiliate network are you using? I'd like to try that too.
 
I have a completely different system which involves researching what is in demand before I ever even look for offers to promote. For example, before I promote Russian brides, I check to see if they are in demand in the real world, search online keyword results, etc. Then I look for Russian bride offers, set up my site, develop content, etc.

I really can't recommend an affiliate network since there are tons of them, just don't start with CJ as I don't think they are newbie friendly. There are several affiliate network managers who post here at WF, look thru the forums and maybe establish contact with them prior to applying to their network. That should make things smoother for you :)
 
Grafix, I meant not the whole process, its clear to look whats top or not at first, I meant just the basic developing process of a LP, but I think I already understood the way, like I wrote above.

Demonez666, that's what I meant with the custom landing pages, something like those review-type sites you are talking about, but the only thing I found at CJ was banner, textlink etc, nothing like such review-type offers, where can I find that?

I'd also like to try adult stuff, can you recommend an affiliate there?

You will never found that. You gotta make it. My first attempt at LP is when I see my competitor LP, see their source code, tweak it as my taste and add different graphic. It is no brainer at that time, but it works coz I already spying this guy for one week with spyfu and I have a satisfactory convertion ratio.

Grafix is right, CJ is not newb friendly. Many times you are gonna rejected or not even eligible to apply.

You better try mainstream CPA offers first, selling adult program is different stuff. Azoogle and copeac is good. Moreover CPA is easier to convert than affiliate sales.

I'm not talking about the pages itself, I meant, how would I select an offer that lets me build a review site for it? The only offers I found in CJ were things like Banners and Textlinks, that I can integrate on existing pages.
Nothing like *Create a review site for our product (custom landing page) here you have a link to lead the visitors to, go build a page around it*

So the only way I can imagine that lets me do something like that on CJ is, use those Banner or Text links and put them on my custom page.. it's a bit difficult to explain what I mean. I thought when building a landing page there is something like an option similar to banners, textlinks, that lets you build such a review site.

Demon, it's not that I couldn't create such things, and I'm not scared of doing pr0n, I got my servers, I'm developing web apps, and I know how to automated almost everything. I'm just new to affiliates.. :)

ok I think I didn't explain my question the easy way, so I'll give an example:

as I understood it, the workflow is like this:
I do some research which products the offer, and which ones are the best to use.
Then I build a site, add some pictures, text and stuff, like such a typical review site.

But _how_ do I get the offer now? I mean, I need some target to link to.
Do I use those banners/textlinks the offer gives me and place it on my page?
Or do I send my page to some funky guy there and he says okay there you go, insert that link there and fun starts.

Is that clearer? :)

Well.. just take your affiliate link and make your own LP. Forget that banner and text links stuff. Integrate your affiliate link on your new landing page. Be it a new graphic or whatsoever it didn't matter as long it is your affiliate link when your visitor takes action.

I think the banner and etc is for established sites (such as blogs) and not for PPC. Sorry if i miss anything.

I didn't mean to underestimate you. It's just things works different if you want to promote porn. You want to go for it I wish your success. It's just I think its easier if you want to promote mainstream CPA offers first. :)
 
And where do I get those affiliate links from? Thats what I'm trying to find in CJ the whole time :) Or are these links just links to some action and no PPC links?

Yeah sure, I understand that adult fu is a different level, just want to know all the possibilities.
 
Ok, post here your banner or text link code. I'll point which is your raw affiliate link. PM is ok too if you don't want to post it here.
 
I don't have one yet, I just wondered how you would get that link you target the traffic too.

That means, you simply extract the link from a banner or textlink ?
 
Hi Sc166,

Why create a landing page? If you want to build a list then sure you may have to go that way otherwise you don't need a site. I agree you should maybe start with one of the other CPA networks and get accounts with a number of the Ad networks to run the ads. We are finding popunders are working well.
We are launching a new program in a couple of weeks that will do all this for you.
