Hi!

I don't know if this is the right category for this question but I'll try :)

If I want to collect emails through holding a competition, lets say I want to give away a prize of a pair of adidas shoes to one random participant in my competition. Does anyone know any pitfalls I should avoid in terms of trademark violation etc.? Can I use the logo? The product images? etc.

(note: it's not necessarily adidas I'm thinking of, but trademarks in general)

If you're not trying to trick people into thinking you're Adidas I don't think you should have any problem at all. There's usually a small disclaimer somewhere saying you're not affiliate with Adidas and they're not sponsoring your give away etc and their logos are the property of Adidas blah blah. May want to do some researching or as a lawyer.

Yeah, I mean how many iPhone giveaways has been around? There shouldn't be any problems. But you never know...

I just started my research here now, so shoot if you got something else :) The problem about asking a lawyer is that I live in Norway.. aka small country and sky rocketed cpc's... I need to run this in the US... Don't think my lawyer is any good over there...
