1) adwords
2) ad sense
3) seo
4) affiliates
5) pay to click
6) traffic ( how to create traffic)

i also keep comping up with shopping sites like kellko, pricegrabber, google, froogle, what one would be the better one to advertise on,

please any advise would be appreciated, or is there a step by step guide the explains everything from the start and also explains all of the terms used.

many thx in advance

  1. AdWords = Google's keyword advertising program. You make ads, relate them with keywords, and they show up on either 1) Google search result pages or 2) on other web sites with relevant content that runs AdSense. You pay for each click (PPC).
  2. AdSense = Google's program through which you are able to show relevant ads on your website(s). You may also have a Google search box on your website. You get income when people click the ads on your website.
  3. SEO = Seargh Engine Optimization. The act of getting your website to rank higher on search engines.
  4. Affiliates = agents that sell or promote publishers' products
  5. "Pay to click" is pretty self-explanatory. If you meant PPC, it stands for Pay Per Click, which is also self-explanatory (read on AdWords)
  6. Traffic is visitors to your website

There are alot of good resources out there and here two good ones:

SEO beginners guide http://www.seomoz.org/article/beginners-guide-to-search-engine-optimization

Here is a good list of tools: http://www.agencytool.com/dashboard/

Also you should probably get some kind of rss reader (i use google reader) and subscribe to some feeds from respected SEO's. Most of what they talk about will be over your head at first but the more you read eventually terms just click in your head-

Just google and subscribe to-
Blue Hat SEO (realllly advanced stuff but good to know whats out there)
Shoemoney SEO
Mat Cutts SEO
SEO MOZ
John Chow SEO

Just to name a few!

Also its a good idea to read and subscibe to Mashable's blog as it keeps you up to date on social network news.

Don't bother using adsense if you're trying to make an actual sale on your site. The few pennies Google will pay for your visitor is 1% of what you could make with them if you convert them into a customer.

Focus on making a clean site, and let all of your customers know about it.
