Cost Per Fan?

tl;dr
summary please

Basically this company developed the tracking technology to be able to not only sell to performance advertisers per Fan but also to track those fans throughout the lifetime of their fanhood on facebook. So, now instead of just selling a lead, they can propose a fan and the added value is that you can remarket to them in a fresh environment where they spend a lot of time, track how much they actually contribute profit wise, and guarantee you have the correct contact information ( who really lies on facebook) It's cheaper than a regular CPL and much more valuable I think.

assigns a unique identifier (or RUID) to any user exposed to an advertising message, whatever the delivery medium – website, emailing, or social media. Just like a genetic marker, the RUID not only enables the identification of new fans for a given brand or advertiser in the same way classic recruitment does, but it also tracks their value over time.

if given the ability to remarket to these fans via other mediums, this is a really interesting concept

article summary:

fans are good.

fans cost money.

fans are like CPM/CPC/CPA...(more like CPM)

get fans and maybe get customers (prob not esp if you by them by the 5000, and 1000 of them span your biz page lolz)

kind of dumb article

CPF isn't going anywhere, if it is still trying that is. With everything else I've seen in the past couple of years, it has to have enough ease to even threaten the over Cost Per models, kind of a waste.
