hiya folks. testing some Polls/Zip submits on Google content network.

Set up 3 polls, set up 3 campaigns, added a bunch of exact and broad keywords..4-6 ads per campaign

So far, i've spent 30.00 and made 16.00

Whats the trick, where do you start tweaking it to make more $$?

I started the cpc at .10, and went all the way upto .35, now Im back to .10-.20 but obviously the costs are outwheighing the profits right now..

one ad today has gotten around 17k impressions, 40 clicks and cost me around 6.00 but this is not sufficent enough to make it worth while..

what am i missing? how do you professionals handle zips/cpa offers and PPC?

is the key to make 100 polls and 100 campaigns and HOPE one goes bonkers? and run with it.. or what?

Azoogle does not seem to have a high paying or large amount of zip/email submits.. so im using the gift card ones, but i feel like im missing something in the process.

Can anyone enlighten me ( and im sure other newbies )? thanks in advance.

Test test test. That's how you turn a campaign profitable. The fact that you are only losing 50% of what you spend the first time around is a good sign.

aeisn - thanks!

can you give some more insight..

what im thinking is the verbage on the ad might be the issue..

who knows.. guess i'll try some more..

Anyone else have any suggestions, please post.

thanks again

It definitely takes a lot of testing and a lot of the polls you run won't be successful. I hate them because they are a pain in the ass and take a lot of work, but they are great for learning.

Yes, the key is making a lot of polls and finding ones that work.

Start your bids higher, at like .25 to .30. Once you start seeing some traffic (usually in a couple of days) start lowering your bids. Advice on how many times a day varies, but I used to do it around twice a day and lowered it by .02 to .03 at a time. The idea is to get your bids down pretty low, ideally below .10 or lower.

You also need to go through your keywords and get rid of ones that have poor CTR. Anything under .05, just turf it. This is important because if you have a lot of poor performing keywords it's going to drag down your campaign.

Check out Fluxads or Affiliate.com for email submits. They both have tons.

Good Luck!

aeisn - thanks.. testing - as much as possible LOL..

dangerdog - ok, much more to digest in your reply. thanks..

for some strange reason -- in my campaign, the keywords are NOT showing individual costs, etc.. not sure why..

thanks for the advice. will add some more polls and check out the other 2 networks..

is it possible to make hundreds of dollars from zip submits.. it seems like you have to spend alot of time and effort to even break even.

back to the drawing board..

Sorry, I meant to delete adgroups, not keywords. Individual keywords don't show stats on the Content Network.

It's possible, but it takes a lot of work doing it with polls. Email submits are notoriously bad for scrubbing. You gotta test lots of different submits to find the good ones.

ok cool. here are some more ideas i had.. Obviously popular trends are good for polls.. but lets get back to the basics.. Like COKE OR PEPSI - you decide, get a free 1000 G/C.

what really helps make those clicks convert.. is it the topic/poll or the offer.. i mean does a 1000 offer sound to un-realistic? would 250.00 seem more realistic?

can someone show some example of converting polls -- or similar.. even if its not yours LOL.. show me your competition.

i need to find a happy medium.. being 50% in the hole is NO fun..
