how do cpa offers that promise prizes or free iphone work ? if they are giving it out for free, how are they operating ?

most of these incentive offer are impossible to finish unless you sign up for 2 other places.....are publishers still paid as long as the survey or email submit is complete ?

Usually to get the actual 'prize', you have to complete several other offers, so they're making money. Publishers are paid, but there's usually some scrubbing (note: NOT shaving) on email submits. Smaxor had a good post about them on his blog

i don't understand why everyone is so adamant about separating the terms scrubbing and shaving.

what is the true difference, to you? intent (malice?)

imo, the only legit scrubbing would be if they turn the traffic away - send the email address AND the click back to me when they convert - in the case of an email submit.

anything else is just shaving under a different name. if they still take the click/lead/sale, and don't pay you can call it whatever you want.
