How do people feel about Cpanel reseller hosting, i've got a reseller hosting account (its for my webdesign biz) which is pretty reliable (it's not with hostgator) but i've been thinking about offering reseller hosting & maybe web hosting as i have alot of bandwidth and webspace.

what do you think? i know you lot can be tough, and i'll get an honest response!

Well since you run a webdesign biz I think its a great idea to offer hosting to your clients. Cpanel Reseller hosting will work just fine plus you will have access to your clients cpanels when you need do stuff.

Then you just offer hosting as a stand alone product. You will pick up the support calls though and you may have to communicate with the host to get some things taken care of.

I try to get year commitments from the few clients I have. Webdesign is not my main focus but I have picked up local clients along the way. So I basically make package deals and hosting is always extra.

Personally its like peas and carrots you offer both and bill for both.

The benefit with using hostgator are another big time host is that you can always send support tickets their way and you just play the email relay game with your client.

I have not had this happen to me but some other reseller mentioned they had to explain to their client the relationship between them and the host company they used and it was a pain for the reseller. I basically tell my clients up front that I have joined with a host company that will aid with support and provide many services that I was unable to offer without jacking up the price. I also reassure that the relationship between the client and I does not change.

Personally I like Cpanel based reselling packages (WHM panels) very comphortable for myself. With WHM panel it is quite easy to create packages and manage customers. I would advice you to try Cpanel reselling. Also, it would be better to have private DNS if you are going to be reseller!
