I want to create a large website for one of my affiliate programs I'm promoting. I just want to make sure I'm going about this correctly. I have basic html skills. I just want to make sure I'm going about this correctly, and asking for any advise or suggestions.
Here's an example of something I'm trying to do: Let's say I'm promoting a dating site. I want a webpage for each city, with geo-targetted profiles, and a brief paragraph that pertains to that particular city to keep the content unique. Every page is going to have it's own sub-domain with the name of the city.
I understand the content has to be unique on every page for search engines. Does the website template design have to be original? Or can I use a free template that I can download? I'm not good at graphic design, but if it will effect my placement on search engines I'd rather purchase an original template.
To create all those webpages with city names, I think I'll have to purchase this software called: 4webmerge. You upload a list of keywords and it creates a webpage for every keyword, you can also specify a template so the webpage is complete. Although this software isn't free, does anybody know of any free software that can do the same thing? I'm thinking I could probably create a simple macro to copy/paste a template, and then copy/paste the keyword into the name of the file. It might take some time to format the keywords correctly, but I think this could work.
Even though these webpages are simple content and design wise, should I purchase traffic equalizer? I've heard several people recommend this software, but I don't know if it'll help in what I'm trying to do.
Any more advise would be appreciated. Do I need any kind of database or php to do create this type of website? or is this something I can do in html? I have large lists of cities in the u.s. by zip code and area code.
Is there anything else that you would recommend that would help me in getting this website ranked high for my keywords in SERPS?
