Well, I would start with getting a domain name and hosting. You can then create your website.

If you want to use free hosting, just search Google for "free hosting".

Hope this helps.

To create a website you need a domain and hosting. For a domain- use godaddy.com to order one.

For hosting use hostgator

I wouldnt recommend hostgator anymore, as you can't install prosper202 on it no more. And it can't really handle alot of WP sites.

Holy fucking shit why are you actually recommending GoDaddy!?! That is just cruel and unusual...

Use NameCheap.com for domains

Go to retailmenot.com and they have promo codes for a dollar of two off.

Seriously stay the fuck away from godaddy...

paste the link in my sig, comes with 25 bucks towards google

grab a URL from namecheap

to create a site, i used googlepages.com for my first one, but i have both frontpage and dreamweaver

Hostgator handles WP just fine; I have been using it since.

eh works for me. Just a domain. would not recommend godaddy hosting though.

Personally I have been using ZenSix hosting, and am quite pleased with the service so far. I believe the owner is an active member here.

I've got like 15 WP installations on my Hostgator account, it works fine. If you just don't like Hostgator then you can use ZenSix or BlueHost.

To answer your original question, Wordpress is definitely a good place to go to create landing pages with little HTML knowledge. Or you can hire a designer, but you really should know the basics. Just go to the library or Amazon.com and get HTML for Dummies and CSS for Dummies, they will be a great start.
