determining cost for ad position on adwords

Is there a fast/easy way to determine how much you would need to bid for each ad position of a keyword?

Obviously you could change your bid, and search to see where your ad is showing up, but this would (in a small way atleast) reduce your CTR by having impressions without clicks.

And I can see in the stats it'll show you your "average position", but this, like all other adwords stats, takes forever to update.

use the adwords traffic estimator and leave the max cpc value blank or try google's keyword tool but be sure to show the estimated avg cpc column.
