Hello Experienced PPC Marketers,

I'm starting out with some email/zip submits and direct linking them on adcenter and tracking with prosper202. conversion rates are at about 2%. what have others done that gave them success on these kinds of campaigns?

let's have a lengthy discussion.

Hi etidd,
Ask yourself this: according to your current cpc what conv. rate would make you breakeven? and what will make your campaign profitable?
If it's very high (for example more than 20%) do something else... if not optimize :)

Good luck

Just figure out what you need your cost per click to be with your 2% conversion rate. I'm assuming this is going to be in the micro-cent range. Contact Adcenter support and tell them that's what you're going to pay, and they better like it if they want your business. Trust me, they'll cave.

thanks so much for the replies, everyone! so none of you have had success with any offers with payouts 1.00-3.00 per conversion?

that's also very good suggestion to contact adcenter with a request of very low cpc. i think i can get a conversion rate higher than 2%.

lots of spam, too. some useless postings.

yen, i haven't really targeted much. for the dating offer i'm running, i set some ad groups to show to different genders.

i can private message the keyword list to you. it's a bit long.

2% on a submit is exceptionally bad, imo - especially out of the gate. I've never done much with that category but starting out in the past, I'd convert in the 20% range and then get scrubbed down to maybe 5% in a week. Unless you can keep your conversion rate around 10% for a $1.25 payout or scale like crazy, I don't see much point in pursuing submits due to all the work keeping them live.

Maybe show us an ad for starters. That won't give away too much. Are you telling them what to expect or promising too much?

Page is loading, please wait! there's a bullshit ad i won't run anymore. this is the one that was floating around a 2-3% conv. rate.

i agree with all of you that these type of campaigns aren't worth much trouble, but i have also talked to people that have had much success with a few of these offers.

As already mentioned, you'd have to scale up really crazy. Volume, volume, volume. You can certainly have success this way, but the huge budget needed is probably spent more effective elsewhere...
