I have heard/ read conflicting reports on direct linking... so I'm trying to cut the chaffe from the hype. (I've only run landing page/ monotenized blogs to this point).

I'm just wondering if:
1) anyone is still actively using this method; and
2) if you are doing it with any kind of viable success. (e.g. It accounts for more than a few percentage points of your income).

It seems that not all industries would either allow this or that it would be particularly advantageous for direct links (no preselling). I suppose info products and eBooks or some CPA ventures could be an exception. Are there any others?

only one way to find out: test it....

I had some success direct linking zip submits in Yahoo, but eventually they get shut down if they are freebie campaigns...

Now i go strictly LP's

I've made money with cpc and direct linking to the offer. Also, used redirects, and landing pages. Overall, I agree with rgordon, LP's are the best way to go in most cases. Direct linking is just lazy, IMHO.

I have an offer i am running now that is pretty much my entire income. On certain keywords a landing page converts better, but on other a direct link is doing much better. I noticed a lot of offers do not allow direct linking. It seems that some networks promote it more than others also. I swear that neverblue has specific pages to direct link to, though I have never messed with them.
