Disabling My Own Pageviews On Adsense Reports

I have been googling long and hard for an answer to this: disabling my very own page impressions so that they do not have an influence on my adsense reports! Does anybody have a step by step tutorial on how to do this? Is there something I can just load onto all of my sites at a server level? Keep in mind I am running on a shared HostGator server, so would I just have to modify the root .htaccess file? The easier the method the better!

go to your windows folder (if on windows, else discard this message C:\Windows)
go to system32 => drivers => etc => hosts (open it with notepad)
add 127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com
on a new line
this disables all google ads

Excellent, thanks! Good to know... But what if I want to still see the ads but not have them count as a page impression?

you need to make it so ad_test is on or something. I can't remember exactly how to do it but there is a wordpress plugin if this is a wordpress blog?

I dont think theres any way you can view the ads but not have the impressions count.

Heh...you could just setup an if statement with PHP to display the ads, but use someone elses publisher id, if it detects your IP. Probably not a good idea but it would work.

EDIT: Doesn't seem to work in IE7 - any ideas?
EDIT2: nvm, stupid cache issue -forgot .. Internet Exploder is the worst browser ever built..
