I see it in some vert fast websites, and It's pretty cheap too..
60 bucks a year for 25 domains and 10 Million queries a month..

But I am confused about it..
Is it a CDN? Asking becase some people are comparing it with Akamai..
Can I run off 10 million queries a month off a small VPS/shared server If I route my DNS through DNSMADEEASY.. I mean does it cache the sites itself and serve it off their servers? if yes, I don't ever have use dedicated servers ad colo servers...
Looks like they have excellent uptime too.

I am still a bit confused...
I like their CDN like feature of serving your site from a server nearest to the visitor, and I am going to use it for that only... But what else do they offer? I mean what exactly do they offer other than that... I just couldn't understand the 10 Million Queries..

Also what is 10 million queries... Is it suppose to be the number of "Hits" in AWSTAT, or is it pageview?

Are you stupid? It's a DNS service. It serves DNS requests.

Yes Sir, forgive me for being stupid.

But my servers are also providing me a DNS service right?
So when it serves my site from a server located nearby the visitor, how does it do it if it does not cache or mirror my site like a CDN does?

I am asking if it does more than just provide a vanity DNS.. because on reading on WHT forum, they are comparing it to Akamai.

Do you use it? Have you looked at the features?

CDN's serves HTTP requests.

DNS serves DNS requests.

Your server most likely does both (albeit slowly).

DNSMadeEasy should be compared to UltraDNS, not Akamai.

Edit: And for what it's worth, UltraDNS is a stable, fast, expensive as fuck service - much like Akamai. They both aren't worth the price tag.
