i think someone from my web host copied a campaign i was running.

I also noticed a weird search in my logs on one of my sites.
Someone was searching for the name i use to log into my hosting account. This happened last week.
A few days later, someone duplicated my campaign exactly and im getting about 1/2 of the volume that i was getting before.
They are running the exact same ad and similar site, in every single spot that i am.

I had never really thought to hide referal info from my web host. But now i feel like an idiot for not doing from the start.

Do you guys every worry about your web host or google tech support guys seeing what you are doing and duplicating it?

who do you use as a host? I use softlayer and dreamhost and I don't worry about it, but it's possible.

i used shared hosting at asmallorange.com, but i just switched to a vps at a different company. I think they saw that i was bringing in alot of volume and just ripped me off.

I have no way to prove it, but my campaign definately got copied. I should have run my links from G through prosper but un fortunately , theres no way to hide that stuff from goog tech support.

I know what i would do if i could see into everyones google account

Hiding it from your WebHost? There isn't really any way to do this.

Although I wouldn't be surprised, if your running a large amount of volume on your tracking software, and whoever behind the desk is familiar with it, because they manage the servers there isn't anything you can do to hide your information.

The only real way to do this would be to co-locate your own server, or move to a non-shared hosting environment, something serious, where the employees there are strictly doing their job and not diving in your stuff, which is not good at all.

You can't hide stuff from your web-host.

In this industry duplication and plagiarism is just part of the game. Whether it's a web host employee or another affiliate, you've just gotta play your shit better than them.... write more appealing ads, improve your site, get a payout increase. Just do whatever the hell it takes to get another edge on competition and you'll be good.

Don't spend too much time sitting around pissed about this, time is money, and honestly, you'll make much more improving your campaign or starting another.

I hide my referral information from everyone. Use Prosper202 to help hide the referrals.

There's no way you could hide ref from hosting owner. You could, however, hide ref from your network using prosper202, but not the hosting.

I'm about to transfer all the domain from my VPS to Dedicated now. I believe it'll be more secure, since they won't care how will you do with the server. Unlike the shared owner that always keeping eyes on your traffic. Still looking for the reliable hosting. Singlehop and softlayer seems to be the best. Anyideas?

Shared account is not the right tools for affiliate marketing. I only use it for my crappy sites. VPS still not secure enough, since they can login as the owner.

Also how many clicks/day are you pushing? I wonder what the max clicks/day would be the time to move to dedicated...

i like wiredtree for my vps. They have dedicated starting at 159/mo.
they have great technical support also.

I host my sites on my own servers.
